 Checkout this kid on film on youtube from USC's defense,he's got great speed off the edge and great athleticism. Always around the ball. I'm so pumped about this kid,he can soften the Ben Martin blow. :good!:

They can't key on him or Chris Walker. Someone will break out.

Hope you are right... and CDD picking him from the USC tree is huge after Martin's injury.

I think Jackson will be a big contributor next year, especially with CCS showing him the ropes

i think he'll be our starter opposite Walker for the majority of the season.

i am not sold on Williams.

Me too, Martin nor Williams has ever lived up to the hype coming out of HS like so many before them. Hope Martin fully recovers though and has a strong senior campaign.

I think Williams will be a key piece this year even MORE so with Martin down. Jackson and Walker start, yes, but someone will need to come in and get after it.

despite the hate he gets from Vols fans, Martin is the leading tackler on our whole roster. it is gonna hurt losing him this year.

I gotta admit I had higher expectations for Martin coming out of HS when he had crazy size and speed combo. But Martin hasn't been terrible like some fans will lead you to believe. I hope he comes back strong in 2011. I can't remember any negative news off the field from this kid so he is good in my book.

Martin was the most underrated player on the defense. He's not flashy but he quietly gets the job done.

I think Lathers is the most underrated. He is our leading turning tackler from last year and a Freshman All-SEC performer, but somehow people forget about him and place other LBs above him on the depth chart.

I agree with the point of your post though. I'd put Martin #2. People let his star rating blind their vision of what he does on the field. He was the best DE we had last year down the back-half of the season.

I was happy about the pick up then...Im ecstatic about it now.....Malik should de pretty well, Im excited to see him play...I just wish it wasn't at the exspense of Martin getting hurt(I know he was going to play regardless, but now he'll be playing a lot more)

No way, because Chris Walker will have that slot sewed up. CWalker was playing at an All American level before he hurt his back last yr.

Lathers looked lost at times too.

He'll be really good once he learns the position and gets used to the speed around him. He started getting it last year.

I agree with you about Martin. He does everything "good" and nothing "great"

He has the potential to do more but he's always had to play hurt. Injuries have really slowed him. If he could stay healthy for a full season, he could blow up like Montario did last year.

G Williams should have upped his game. He's stronger and playing at a heavier weight. He was still kind of a tweener DE/LB last year.

Hopefully he has more "character" than that.

So because someone has a tattoo means that they have no character? My wife and I both happen to have tattoos ... and five college degrees between us. I'm a doctor. We give to charity. My wife is a middle school teacher. Neither of us have ever been arrested. We live in a nice house in a nice neighborhood. Neither of us have ever done drugs. We are both close with both of our extended families. I am a college professor.

Any other gems of intellect from the peanut gallery...
