It would certainly be a modified version, but nonetheless the point is the same. If you think just simply playing zone will completely stop penetration by the guards on this team, your mistaken. We had this discussion in a thread a few months ago. Take a look at the Memphis teams over the last 4 years, and what happened when they faced zones.

I'm not saying zone isn't perhaps the best idea, because it probably is. But its not a fail-safe or bullet proof plan.

Take a look at what happened when we dropped off in the paint to guard Derek Rose and let Memphis shoot 3s the whole game. I'm not talking about zoning UK; I'm talking about not pressuring your pgs and forcing them to beat us shooting the ball.

I hear ya. I'm just not sure this team has the moxie to stand out there and shoot all day.

You may be right. I'm certainly not bashing your team, either. I am just telling you that most teams, imo, will play man against you and essentially play off all of your players daring them to shoot. They will also probably double down on your posts.

Not to mention a lot of controlled clock. That will be huge against UK. I aint saying the zone will stop what Cal does but you can reference back when we played Memphis in the Forum. I was getting nervous watching them shoot lights out at the beginning lol.
