Based on the various reports and articles about specific players, here's what we think we know:

  • Darrin Kirkland, Jr. - high ankle sprain - [UPDATE] will miss Florida game.
  • Cam Sutton - broken bone(s) in foot; [UPDATE] out 6-8 weeks; could play again in post-season.
  • Quart'e Sapp - [UPDATE] ACL - out for the season.

OFFENSE:
  • Chance Hall - knee surgery in Aug - [UPDATE] may be back for Florida game.
  • Josh Smith - ankle - [UPDATE] will suit up for Florida game

FLORIDA INJURIES:

OFFENSE:
  • QB Luke Del Rio - knee - "likely" out for Vols game - redshirt senior graduate transfer from Purdue, Austin Appleby expected to take the spot.
  • RG Jordan Tyler - eye.
  • OG Antonio Riles - knee - pre-season injury, out for season.
  • [UPDATE] WR Antonio Callaway - quads - questionable this Sat.

Who else we missing? Who else are they missing? Not folks with injuries they're playing through, like Coleman Thomas, but guys who have actually been out, or will be out going forward into the FL game.

Sapp was going back to the locker room on crutches with either his ankle wrapped or in a boot, I can't remember which one. So I would say he is out too

Let's make this a true summary--what will Florida's injury situation be?

Everyone now expects their starting QB won't be available. That means we'll face redshirt senior graduate transfer from Purdue, Austin Appleby.

Appleby started the first three games of the 2015 season for Purdue, completed 57.5 percent of his passes for 1,260 yards (6.1 per attempt) with eight touchdowns and eight interceptions. For his career, he has 19 scores and 19 picks.

Who else will Florida be missing next week?

What I dont get is having JRM playing special teams against a scrap MAC team

Not very bright coaching decision

If we had a light hitting fall practice, as has been stated during some game reporting and I think on here, to help keep down injuries, I agree with you. Just does not make sense. Surely our youngsters can handle this job, running and tackling should have be learned in high school. Otherwise, how did we think they were good enough for a scolly? I know good spec. teams is are a must, but JRM on the field seems a bit much.

That's a smart idea, Bruised. I'll put Florida on the OP, too. Del Rio is the only one I've heard of so far.

That coaching decision must get in line behind all the other bad coaching decisions Butch has made.

Its year 4, no excuse for starters to be playing on special teams. The odds of getting injured on spteams are greater than any other aspect of the game. Sutton shouldn't be returning punts and jrm shouldn't be in.

JRM was asked about this last week - go listen to his comments. He clearly understands the importance of special team play and wants to be part of that.

Well, a coach needs to put the needs of the team above what a player wants sometimes

Thats why you have 2nd and 3rd string players. They can throw their body around on STs. If we were recruiting correctly, we would have enough talent on STs we wouldnt need to play a starter

I guess we should just go back to fumbling the punts like we were doing before he started returning them. Can't play to not get hurt.

Justin Martin? I have seen no mention that he was in the game this week. There was mention that Foreman was suspended, but don't recall anything on Martin. Am I the only one in the dark on this?
