I have no doubt though that Saudi Arabia.... (well the entirety of the Middle East) "Palestine", South America, Europe will all be falling all over themselves getting relief out. I would be surprised if the Red Cross and American charitable relief organizations aren't already there. That is indeed terrible. And Myanmar won't have the resources to deal with such a disaster.

Hopefully this is a time when America does what it does best. Come together and simply helpI have no doubt though that Saudi Arabia.... But we suck.
Those places (except Palestine, which has their hands full at the moment) will send assistance based on past precedence, if the Myanmar government doesn't block them. edit - the government's now asking for aid. The Red Cross and other relief organizations, American and otherwise, have bases there.I have no doubt though that Saudi Arabia.... And it will be the Churches and private charaties and just average everyday Americans who will really show up. I think one reason God continues to look out for America is that we are a generous people. I know I sure need to do more.We ALWAYS do. And usually alone, and still committed in the world for being us.
'Alone' and 'contributing the most' aren't the same. Lots of countries give substantial amounts of disaster aid, and a lot of countries give aid to us when needed. When has anyone done more than us? I'll bet we would go to Iran if Tehran suffered a huge disaster.
I'm tired of us taking care of everyone else and leaving it own to suffer and getting no appreciation for doing so.
