Prayers for Coach Barnes

I heard him mention last week that he flew to see his brother for the day so I wondered if he was sick and then I thought I heard the broadcast crew mention during the game Saturday that he passed. I didn’t hear anything else about it so I thought I heard wrong. Sorry to hear. I know his older brother was influential as Barnes grew up without a father for most of his life. Gotta be tough to coach tonight then bury your brother the next day. Praying for coach.

Same, they made just a quick comment about his brother passing and that was it.

Gotta be hard to see the "importance" of an entertainment game while facing that. Emotionally strong man.
Absolutely. I'm not exaggerating when I say he's truly one of the men I admire the most. I always say that if I ever had the chance to have a Dad, I'd want him t be like Rick Barnes. I've never loved a coach we've had here the way I love that man.

There will be a day soon where Vol fans will gnash their teeth bc they didn't recognize what we had. I hope it's a long time. A rare and inspiring person.

Well said. We are so, so fortunate to have him. What a great human being and example for our guys.

Condolences and deepest sympathy to Coach Barnes and his family.
My brother passed away way too young a few years back.
I miss him everyday. When you lose someone that close to you, your life is just never the same. I now look at my life in two time periods, before his passing, and now after.
RIP to Tommy Barnes and all the big and little bro's out there on the other side,
until we meet again!
