Yes, and that means as coaches run these limited workouts they are noting which players need extra work in certain areas, and it will be completely those players' responsibility to put that work in on their own. Kim has likely already decided which players she needs to become "obsessed" with improving certain skills like 3-pt shooting, ballhandling, rebounding ... or getting into better condition overall.Limited practice until November 3rd.
She's got several who can hit. 35-40% or better.... But for them to do so, they will have to have the green light that was given to Darby last year. ..Also you can't give a green light 1 day and tell him it's a bad shot the next day. That is the mistake prior coaches made... If she does something like that, her shooters will be reluctant to take that shot. . . . I teach offense and one thing I stress is that there are 3 scoring areas; inside the paint, mid-range and outside the arc. And you have to have the mentality to score from wherever is open. Not just 1 or 2 areas, but all 3..Yes, and that means as coaches run these limited workouts they are noting which players need extra work in certain areas, and it will be completely those players' responsibility to put that work in on their own. It sounds to me like her biggest concern is not having enough true 3-pt deadeyes for her comfort, and she needs some players to want to fill that role so desperately that they make it their mission over the next few months to become deeply feared assassins from beyond the arc.
We need AT LEAST two players, and preferably four, who scare the ish out of opposing defenses from deep so that it opens up the paint. If this coming season is going to be a success, we're going to have to knock 'em down from deep. That will be everything.
