A couple quick notes.

No one on the practice field was in a green jersey today.

Jones was paying a great deal of attention to his team’s attitude today, imploring them over the loudspeakers to play with some ‘juice,’ clearly trying to set a tone for this week and the trip to College Station.

Personnel-wise it looked like Coleman Thomas was doing more than we’ve seen him do at any point in the last couple of weeks. He appeared to be getting some first-team work at center during individual periods, so it looks like he may be available this week after battling ankle issues since the start of the season.

Justin Martin was back on the field today after not traveling to Georgia with the team this past weekend. That will give Bob Shoop some options, but it would appear that Malik Foreman will still have first crack at starting opposite Emmanuel Moseley at the other corner spot.

No players were in green non-contact jerseys in practice

Tennessee worked on fielding kickoffs. Among the players fielding kickoffs were junior Evan Berry and sophomore Micah Abernathy.

The Vols also worked on punt returns. Redshirt junior running back Alvin Kamara fielded the punt returns.

The offensive line practiced blocking drills in the periods open to the media.

Malik Foreman.....eh. He almost cost us the game Friday.

Our DB's really worry me this weekend. Their WR's and passing game is strong. I'm just very nervous that if we don't get some pressure on Knight he will have a field day. Damn, what a difference Cam Sutton would have made.

Will we ever be fully healthy in a season? :(

And right before that, he jumped a route and damn near ended the game with an interception.

Fingers,

Regarding depth at linebacker, who seems to be positioning themselves as our "next man in" for McDowell or Jumper.

Thinking it has to be a couple of the Killer B's but not sure which ones? My guess at the order: Bynum, Bryant, Bituli, Bates & Elliott Berry

Was hoping to hear that Coach Jones employed a hypnotist who put our team in a trance convincing them the first half is over and we are down 17 points when we initially take the field Saturday.

What about Hurd?

Yeah, curious about his lower injury as well. Nobody in a green jersey so the lower injury may have been a knockoff just to keep him out & hold against him the play he made earlier in the game even though he came back in & played & scored. That's my guess but I could certainly be wrong too.

I am 100% in support of this.

Coleman (slow man) Thomas needs to stick with guarding the water jug. At least it can run past him....

I'm just reading between the lines that he was in the doghouse for that fumble.

Maybe it's wrong of me as just a fan, and I don't wanna go around spreading 'hate' about one of our tried-and-true guys.

Maybe Butch put him in to atone for his mistake, he scored that TD in the 3rd, and Butch said 'you dun enough'.

It's clear there was not an injury other than perhaps a stubbed toe, when Butch said in the Monday presser Hurd was full-go.

Hurd handled it well on the sidelines, encouraging the team during time outs, per the sideline reporter at the game.

IMO nothing to see here, move along, Hurd will be fine.

actually we were talking about it in another thread if you look at the play they looked to be in cover 2 and he was supposed to have safety help over the top it looks like he was expecting that.I think he was expecting an inside release by the WR. Then again maybe he did just give up on the play but that makes a lot less sense since I am sure he knows that Eason has a cannon thats the kids claim to fame. We will probably never know.

I think you're right.

If the young man has been hindered by injury and it affected his play AND the coaches kept putting him on the field limiting the offense, THAT is on the staff not the player. I'm not ready to write this youngster off, but if he gets healthy and he produces the same way on the field he did prior to injury, then he and the staff really need to reevaluate what his future is IMO.

Elliott Berry played in the first half against UGA....Didn't see Bates, Bituli, or Bryant on the field during regular defense....Don't remember if Bynum got in or not.
