I felt that this needed it's own thread. And yes this year since there are so many SEC opponents they can do 2nd round SEC matches. Feels like the committee would love this and honestly I'd be scared of this scenario, seems like the ultimate lose/lose for us

Pretty sure there's no lose/lose in a tournament;you either win and advance or lose and go home.

Took care of them the other night and we'll do it again if we have to. If we somehow get them in SEC tournament play I think that makes it less likely we see them early in the NCAAT.

A sweet sixteen rematch with Texas A&M is looking more likely than Vandy, IMO.

The committee isn’t going to do that in the 2nd round for teams that already played twice in the regular season.

Memphis I could see. Not Vandy.

Pretty sure bracket principles won’t allow two teams that met two times in the regular season to see each other before the Sweet 16. I could be wrong, but that’s what I remember. So this wouldn’t be possible.

Scared? Are you kidding?

Your playing a team on the same level no matter what. What makes Vandy any scarier? I mean they are on an upswing and you might rather get a team that's cooled off after being ranked real high like a Texas A&M but either way you have to be ready to go.

Memphis is more likely and they are positioned right. The committee would love this.

Beating Vandy in the NCAAT would be lose/lose? In what universe?

Or Mizzou. A&M is in a free fall. I see them ending up with a 5 or 6.

Here’s the complete guide the selection committee follows if anyone wants to indulge themselves. Conference teams who have already played each other twice may not meet earlier than the regional semifinals.

SEC vs SEC can’t happen until the elite eight in a normal year. This year it’s the Sweet 16 due to the number of bids we’ll have.
