My first time in Neyland was around '71. The opponent was Ole Miss and it was homecoming. I didn't get to see the game because I got arrested by Knoxville's finest for having hair too long. Their excuse was that I was drunk but I was completely sober.

My first game I was probably 10 or 11. I can't remember the year, but it was against UK. UK was up 21-0 at halftime. My uncle ,who is a UK grad, bought us tickets in the UK section. I remember him looking at me, my brother and Dad and saying, "You guys sure have been quiet down there!" There was not much we could say at the moment, but he was pretty quiet himself the rest of the game. Alvin Harper returned the opening kickoff of the second half for a touchdown, and Tennessee rolled from there for a victory.

The 6 OT game against Arkansas. Don't remember the score, just Kelly Washington's spin move and Witten catching the game winning TD.

I remember that NC game like it was yesterday

I do too! I'm just glad I got to be a part of the NC season...I remember looking up at my dad at halftime of the Arkansas game in the pouring rain and saying " Dad, we're gonna lose..." He looked down at me and said " Don't give up so soon, son." Next thing you know, Stoerner fumbles, and we end up winning! One of the best moments and memories of my life!

My first game was the 2001 game versus Vanderbilt. We won 38-0 and finished the year 11-2. We were ranked somewhere in the top 5 at the time I think. The next week we won at the Swamp.

Don't remember my first game. I need to check with my dad on that one as I'm told I was in diapers. The only bowl game I've ever been to was the Liberty Bowl against Minnesota in 1986. I believe we won that game 21-14. I remember the Gopher's qb was Rickie Foggy. With a name like that, who could forget.

Thanks for this thread, btw. Bringing back alot of memories by reading everyone's comments.

1994 vs. Vandy in Nashville
Result: 64-0 win
Peyton Manning's freshman year, Aaron Hayden broke his leg, James "Little Man" Stewart stepped up big, John Becksvoort couldn't miss from anywhere on the field, and I'm sure there are plenty of others.
Ranking: ??? I have no idea, I was 12, I didn't pay attention at that point.
Bowl: I'm sure it was decent, but not a great one
Final Ranking: See above. :)

Either way, it was my first game and it's a phenomenal memory. :)

We had a tough stretch. We had all 3 losses in 3 weeks. 2 losses by 1, and the other to Bama by 7.

Unfortunately I was at that game . . .

The QB was actually Andy Kelly. We had about 150 yards of offense that night. The game ended with us getting a go ahead FG attempt blocked, the ball squirting backwards about 20 yards and then Van Tiffin kicking about a 47 yard FG to win for Bama. :banghead2:
