I’m holding back on most comments about the basketball season until after the post season. Agree there are some concerns presently, however how many times in the Barnes era have we dominated regular season, got to no 1 more than once, won the SEC regular season and won SEC tournament, just to fizzle out in the NCAA tournament when it really counts. My hope is that something miraculous will happen and we will make a strong run in the tournament. I know many will strongly disagree that we have a chance to even get to the second weekend, possibly so, but one can hope we suck now and play lights out in March.

11 new players, 3 freshmen on the floor at times.
I know they got 18 games in, but Barnes hasn’t forgot how to coach. He will figure it out but some upper class men might see a diminished role. Lost the game last 4 minutes of first half, but I believe in Barnes and this team.

Barnes is getting old he needs to do something soon or he will retire very successful but without a championship. He deserves a championship.

As it stands now, this team doesn't deserve an invite.
I'd rather not go than get humiliated in the first round - which seems very likely.

Look at the schedule. There is NOTHING that says we make the tourney. We will end up sub .500 in conference and Im not sure our ONE win against a good team will be enough.
Just another UT team with a poorly assembled roster and mediocre coaching. Maybe one day we'll demand better and quit throwing our money and energy at average.

And the foul called on Gillespie was a bad call. Changed the game. Okpara getting on foul trouble in the second half was a blow as well.

Our basketball program has been anything but average since Barnes arrival. Idiotic to call Barnes mediicre

If we make it to the big dance we will be bounced out in the first round. This team isn’t very good and the chemistry isn’t either. I want to thank Barnes for the incredible job he has done here in 11 seasons far better than i thought he would do but im ready to move on after this season.

If they get anywhere between 18-20 wins they'll make it just because of the win over Houston. At this rate just gotta take it one game at a time. I'm not confident at all about the next two games but who knows. Just hard to believe we're sitting here 18 games in and we're here. GBO🍊

A .500 SEC record last year was pretty good. The league was loaded. This year not so much. A .500 record in conference probably won’t make it unless the OOC record is strong. And the committee always has been a “what have you done lately” type of attitude. Inside game can’t finish and no consistent outside shooting except Gallespie.
Maybe they’ll turn it around, but defense, though pretty good, ain’t gonna carry them to many additional upsets.
