I do have to say, that CBJ doesn't have any fear about putting in freshmen in the big games, first it was Petermen and now Dobbs

I think Butch recognized his mistake in the FL game and was going to give Worley his chance in this game. After it was essentially over and with the injury to his thumb, it was easier to go with the freshman.

you could be right,i thought starting Peterman was a wake up call for Worley and I'm just guessing that we will see a bunch more of Dobbs this year, since his redshirt is blown

Redshirt isn't blown. If we get anything good out of Dobbs it is well worth playing him this year. Red shirts are less important than they used to be when you actually kept a player for four years and you wanted four good years of his talent on the field. If Dobbs becomes a great talent, chances are he would be gone after 3 years redshirt or not. The redshirt used to be a chip for the players, today it is more a chip for the teams to use as they see fit to manage experience year over year.

well the redshirt has it's place, most of the line men benefit from a redshirt year and it gives the players a chance to learn the new system and get adjusted to college life

what are the requirements to redshirt for a year ? i know it has to do with playing time, but I'm don't remember how much
