I watched the game on Saturday, and re-watched it last night. I saw several UT players playing hard for 4 quarters; that didn't help. The obvious disparity between the Tide, and the Vols is on the line-of-scrimmage. Alabama owned both lines for virtually the entire game. All of the fireworks, and big plays by Tua, and the WRs were really window dressing. The game was decided three yards on either side of the ball. I was surprised that Pruitt didn't throw more blitz packages at Tua; what was there to lose? I suspect that Pruitt was more interested in seeing how his LBs, and Secondary would lineup, and carry out assignments on defense, and game-planned accordingly.

If I were a UT fan, I'd be optimistic about the future. The Vols have some playmakers on offense, and both QBs look pretty solid. Here again the glaring weakness on offense is the OL. Four or five good recruits on the OL, and DL will make a huge difference in the outcome going forward.

Good luck on the rest of your season, hope you win out.

The disparity between any good team and any bad team is LOS. Alabama/Tennessee is no different. Alabama has been good since Saban arrived because they are a dominant line of scrimmage team. This allows them to run the ball and protect the passer on offense and stop the run and create a pass rush on defense. They just happen to have a QB now with a strong, accurate arm that wows people, but they'd be undefeated if they had Jalen Hurts or Jarrett Guarantano at QB. Saban has won all of these titles with mediocre, nothing special QB play.

As I watched the game I was complaining about blitzes. Against Auburn we were sending corners and were very successful. The few times we sent pressure from the edge we were successful such as the pick 6. But you are 100% correct about the line play being the difference in the game. Auburn DL dominated our OL. We couldn't run the ball at all. We were however able to make enough plays by WR to win the game. We made similar WR plays against AL but the difference was the time the QB had in the pocket. I believe our QB was planted into the ground on every long play against AL. And we still couldn't run the ball. Going into the game we knew we would have problems on the OL. But to be honest I thought we would be able to apply SOME pressure to AL. We didn't apply any and thus we lost badly. Hopefully they can get the right pieces in place to salvage the rest of the season.

I’m more pissed off about reading this forum and seeing Bama fans taking pity on us. I want them to hate us as much as I hate them.

We don’t have to be uncivil but I want to see some open mutual hostility between us again.

Classy post man. I really hope this rivalry gets back to what it used be

The difference is Tua was driving a Cadalac and our QB's were in a pinto. We will be upgrading soon!

It really was.
I felt like we were Carson Newman facing the Patriots.
I just didn’t want our guys to get hurt. It was pretty sad.
It was a total mismatch. But every game Bama has played so far has been.

LSU might keep close to them for a while....but they will still win by +20. LSUs offense isn’t good enough to keep up.

Agree. Georgia might play them close in Atlanta (assuming they win the East). Bama would crush UK or UF.
Clemson might stay close if Lawrence has time to throw.
ND would get hammered by Bama.

Yep. I agree with your assessment. UGA is the only east team that has any chance against them.

LOS was a complete mismatch as was speed all over the field.
That’s why we are bad. If Botch had a clue, when he recruited undersize players you would expect the would have speed to burn, like the good Oregon teams but NO . We are weak and slow!
CJP will change this.

So, you’re saying we may be small, but we’re also slow.
