Possibly new traditions

Can you imagine how the students would respond to this? I'm an old man and hate it. They would walk out.
While I don't love the canned organ music, I have to say that the live guy at Omaha (who I think also plays for the Cubs) is pretty amazing. He takes requests and can play pretty much anything, and he's good at keeping up with the game and playing appropriate situational music. I don't think it would go over well in our stadium, but I thought it was pretty fun in that type of environment.

I think the thing that will work is baseball specific stuff but the problem is most of our fans don't know baseball. I love when there is a flyball and most of the crowd starts cheering as the outfielder is moving in to catch the ball. Or the PA person plays staying alive when the opposing team fouls a ball off. We have to have a new PA person and music people. They are horrible. No clue about baseball.
But I'm not a fan of cloning football stuff which is what has been tried. It is a different crowd and some of that does not apply. Get a baseball junkie up there to do sound and PA.

If there was one overarching thing that dimmed the experience at LNS this year, it was the PA/Music/Game Ops staff and everything around it. It felt like they had staff retire/grow up/move on and they handed it off to a bunch of students to save money. It was not a prime time operation at all.

The music. The "games". The PA in general. It was rough and never improved. Honestly made the experience awkward at times. They couldn't function without a script (which I think had a lot to do with the lack of in stadium announcements during weather, etc).

If there was a positive it was that someone finally figured out DJ Sterl isn't a baseball thing at all.

Move folks in SRO down to empty seats after 3rd inning.
Add seats to student section
Clone WolfpackVol to get the crowd going.
Add Murray St to schedule!
I'd rather move the students closer to the action than put in seats out in no man's land. Their influence now has been greatly diminished. Horrible decision was made. Might as well put a tent up somewhere outside the stadium for them to hang out. They'd probably have about as much impact on the game from there. Off my soapbox now.
