Before the season, Mike Glennon was a highly touted recruit who was expected to compete for the starting QB job at NCST as a freshman. Since then, he has redshirted and starting QB Russell Wilson has looked amazing (17TD passes to 1 INT) and apparently Glennon is looking to transfer. I live in his hometown and thats the rumor thats going around. His brother didnt do too great at VT and i dont think the Glennons want the younger son to just sit on the bench for 3 or 4 years waiting for his chance. He seems like he'd be a perfect fit for Kiffins offense.

Your thoughts???

Oh yeah here are his recruiting profiles:

The more i look into him, the more i like. All i remember about him in person is this hugely tall, lanky kid absolutly lighting up my Centreville team (along with Evan Royster of PSU who was a beast). He is the most impressive HS player ive ever seen, maybe outside of Royster (who happened to play DB that game too since the district championship was on the line). That Westfields team was in my opinion the top HS team in the nation.

his last name is Glennon? I'll pass

Its actually a very nice family. Even his brother, Sean, had a few good years at VT. Dont judge the kid before you really take a look at him. He did struggle a little bit in spring practices, which is why he redshirted, but hes still an outstanding prospect.

oh I have seen him play and I would rather save a scholarship for a top notch QB for next year

What teams other than NCSU recruited or looked at Glennon? U.T., "in most cases," wouldn't be recruiting the same caliber of player that goes to the ACC, unless the player was a world beater.

Teams like VT, Florida State, and Michigan seemed to think he was pretty decent. If you want to argue with Rivals.com, be my guest but Glennon was rated higher than any QB we've gotten in the last 7 years (outside of James Banks).

He's an ugly lil feller. I think I saw him on Sci Fi channel the other day in the movie "The Children of the Corn 4."
It was a thriller.

Keep in mind these are some of same posters that were bashing coach O last night because of an LSU rumor.

Glennon was a TOP prospect last year. The kid has the tools to be a great signal caller. Peyton isn't going to win any GQ awards himself.

My question is after redshirting this year, would he still have to sit next year when he transfers?

What is his height and weight? The Crackberry won't accept the link.

If he isn't released from his scholarship, then he'd have already have used his RS year and wouldn't be able to contribute until 2010, and he'd already be a junior.

This does nothing to help us in 2009 unless he is able get an exemption and not have to sit out a year. I'ld rather we just go hard after some HS seniors this year and let them battle it out in 2010...

The only transfer I would even sneeze at would have to be a pretty highly ranked qb that wouldn't have to sit out a year...shouldn't this be in the recruiting threads?

if he has anything in common with sean glennon id rather have a organ grinder and a monkey under center
