Offense sells tickets....Defense wins Championships! ask Saban. Hard to argue his blueprint for success.

Didn't even notice they were all defensive recruits when I posted.

I was actually trying to think of any running backs/offensive lineman who are high on UT that were going to verbal in the next few months and I can't think of any.

Don't be surprised by our offensive numbers be down other than o-line since they enphasised skill positions last year with 4 wrs and 3 rbs

Yeah I think they would take 1 RB, 1 QB, 2-3 WR (at least 1 JUCO), and at least 3 OL. I guess a TE would be a take, but not a priority.

Wrong...we will take at least 2 RBs and hopefully elite ones at that. Probably at least 3 WRs...have to account for the fact that Rogers and/or Hunter may go pro after this year, depending on their success. CP may be the same, depending on success, but he only has 2 years no matter what.

Why at least 2 RB? We have 6 on the roster, with the eldest being a lone true junior.

I think if they get a top 5 RB on their board, they won't push for another, but that's jmo.

So is this going to be a trend from Dooley's coaching staff where we recruit mostly offense one year and defense the next?

Or is this a result of us filling up on offensive needs last year and addressing defensive ones this year and moving forward we'll do a mix of both each year?

It was pretty even last couple classes.

2012 - 11 on Defense, 9 on Offense and a kicker.

2011 - 14 on Defense, 13 on Offense.

It has (or had) more to do with our team needs for each of the last two years than the coach's recruiting strategy.

Just because we have 6 RB on the roster doesn't mean anything. We still don't have a proven RB who can carry the load...hopefully that changes this year with Lane and Neal, and hopefully Bourque will show a lot of promise. However, notice how I continue to have to say hope, because we don't know. Devrin Young and Que Watson will have specialty type roles, not every down backs. Alden Hill could be a bruiser and short yardage back, but he is only a true FR, so nothing is proven. Tom Smith has yet to impress much unfortunately. We will take 2 RBs this class with at least one of them being a stud out of high school...hopefully both of them. JMO.

I think this might have to with Sal. Love the fact he is out DC. No more sitting back on D like we been seeing. Put pressure on QB and make something happen.

If the guys start slacking off, Coach Sal will eat their faces off.
