After thinking about how we match up with CAL by position I don't see how they can beat us other than UT turning it over four or more times.

QB - UT
RB - UT
WR - CAL big
OL - UT big
TE - UT

DL - Even ?
LB - UT big
DB - slight edge to UT

Special teams - Cal
Coaching - slight edge to UT (Tedford is probably better than Fulmer, but Cut and Chief are two very outstanding coordinators)

No way they have a better DL.

I would say the only thing you are way off on is our Oline being "big" over theirs. Yes, we hear it's better, but we havent seen it yet, so I can't say our Oline is "big" over anyone, I watched it last year.

I can see where you'd give them the "big" @ WR, but I'm not so sure. Sure, we don't have any DJ, but then again, he isn't anything special to me. Yes, he scored on us last year, when we didn't care anymore. When he does something against someone other than a PAC 10 softy, then he'll get that much credit from me, til then, I say "slight" advantage to Cal at WR.

I think saying UT has an OL advantage is true only if the preseason reports are true. If not, its even.

I think the reason I gave us a big edge in the OL is b/c from the reports I've read the OL may be their biggest weakness on the entire team. So comparatively we would have a big edge there, but considering how our OL has underachieved about every year from 2000 then you probably have very valid points.

Even with giving the OL an 'even' comparision we still blow them away position by position. Hopefully it will translate to the field next Saturday.

Given your current situation at TE, how exactly do you justify saying you have the advantage? That’s ludicrous.

You mean our current "situation" with a Senior returning starter?

Remember Chris Brown . . . the guy that caught the 1st TD pass against you guys?

WE are way more talented a team than Cal, hands down.. They have some talented guys, like every team, but all around at every position. we beat them with talent any day..

And a 6'6" back up that was only overshadowed by his 6'8" brother who ran a 4.5???

Yeah, I'm starting to see what he meant by "situation"!!!

Well, I think it's safe to say that Chris Brown is better than anything you have returning, plus Jeff Cottam is a clone of his brother, but just lacks some experience.

If that is the only problem you have with the list then my confidence just went even higher.

Uh... because we still have one very experienced quality TE returning (Chris Brown), plus a big physically gifted So (Cottom) and a highly recruited FR (Stocker).

Didnt just catch it either, drug a couple of Bears into the endzone with him.

Good. That's even better news.:)

Is that based on what they lost on the DL from last year or are they just bad there period or both?

A little of both. Malele, their returning starter, who started all 13 games, had a whopping 11 tackles and 0.5 TFL. The other guys aren't highly rated necessarily, and no experience.

Cal's starting TE, Craig Stevens, is good as in "Pac 10 good." Was knocked out on the opening kickoff last year.

LMAO, I have been trying to remember who that was...

That's funny, a Cal fan questioned our superiority at a position where their best player couldnt even make it to the first offensive play. Pansy.

They are both 6'8" and have about the same speed. The younger Cottam has actually been better in the scrimmages anyways.

Well why do we even need this list? It is pretty apparent you guys feel superior in every position anyway. You guys oughta put ur money where ur mouth is and bet the farm on UT.:ermm:
