There is rumor of Brazzell going to LSU but I don’t believe that for one second.
How much would they realistically pay him that he wouldn't be able to get in the draft? He's already projected as 2nd round pick that could rise higher after the combine. That puts him firmly in the 2 million range with the chance to reach FA/extension by the time he 25/26. Surely it would have to be higher than 4 million to even make it a consideration.

The rumor is LSU would pay him $2 mil.

This is going to be an absolute bloodbath. Many new coaches with big bags of NIL money and the players can smell the fact competition will drive NIL up substantially. Under this system every current player should take a look to find their value on the open market. Team loyalty is out the window, it's about the money now just like the old gold rush days.

Wonder how much we are paying these guys who never see the field, only for them to hit the portal? Seems like money thrown down the toilet.
I had a coworker whos son was a backup at Auburn and last year transferred to Colorado. He was making I believe $350,000 for being a backup and sometimes special teamer for Auburn.

Boy, everyone on here last year chalked up our defections on D, especially the backs, to being recruited over. Funny how that was our major letdown this year.

That's no more than he would make in the draft. If he takes that, he isn't very smart. It's super doubtful he's going to play his way into a top 15 pick in 20207 with Smith and Williams in the same draft class. And he'll be 23 for the 2027 draft, which is a bit old for draft eligible WRs.

Bigger question....what did this staff see that made them think they were SEC material? Goes to my lack of faith in their evals and not just at the qb position. Bright side is that it might minimize some of the concerns about a lack of development. If they just aren't good enough to begin with.....

The only people not prospering is the average fan.Yes there are big boosters at every school. But ticket holders will be asked to pay an athlete’s premium as Danny has already done here.Ticket prices and donations will go up too.Even the price of concessions.I’m glad I’m older and have already raised a family. The price to take a family to a game could compare to the price of at least a nice weekend getaway for middle classed people.

Then the complaint from you would be: Why don't we have any depth on this team when someone is injured?

How can you have "next man up" if there's no next man there?

This was the same complaint from the "bag man" days. We always said "they paid them" when Alabama recruited highly but the real truth was "they outbid us."

The money is much higher now but the schools that are able and willing to pay more, just as it's always been, will be successful. There are a few different schools paying now but a lot of the usual suspects are right there.

Nice things, like elite football teams, cost money. They always have and always will. If we're trying to do it "on the cheap" it's not going to go well for us. Phil Fulmer did not win at UT from an empty bag.
