on the drive to score which would have won us the game. We ran the same play to the left side the entire drive, handoff to the right side up the middle, up the middle, up the middle. Then we get on the goal line and do the same thing....the obviously knew it was coming, they had the line and the linebackers stacked to that side! I was hoping that they would quit busting it up the middle like they had and bounced it outside on a pitch or a sweep! Dave Clawson must have been calling in the plays from BGSU! :banghead2:

uh...isn't that side where the most experience is? also, you can't put getting into the endzone in crompton's hands yesterday.

I would have like to see a screen or something.... But heck, I'm sure Crompton would have figured out a way to throw it directly to a LB or DE for a pick six.

We were able to run the ball to the left side pretty good all day so i wasnt to upset about that, what i was upset about was the playcalling on the goal line. Should have spread the field on 3rd & 4th downs there. UCLA's defense just stacked up on us. Would have love to have seen a sweep or stretch play on 3rd down then put Crompton in the shotgun & spread the field out on 4th down.

You are exactly right....the play selection on the goal line was far from what i was expecting the see in that situation

would not have made a difference. i am no d-coordinator, but i would stack it anyway and let crompton beat us. damned if you do, damned if you don't.

I seriously think that we would've scored given we bounced it outside once or twice and then busted it up the middle....but not at all how we did it

really? receivers were running bad routes, crompton was throwing at...well i am not sure, but they would have stacked it anyway. either to stop the run or put a lot of pressure on crompton. and we know how he is under pressure. pick your poison.

I think we should have had both Brown and Oku / split backfield when we had 1st and goal at the 4. At worst UCLA has to cover sideline to sideline with that speed in the game. As it was all they had to do was stack the middle.
