Seems like every thread i read has people all saying that (insert back name here) is the best back we have available for different reasons and that he is the one we really need. lets see what the percentages say.

I don't see any poll. But if we are talking about realistic chances, I would want UT to land Mario Pender. Followed by Mike Davis.

why do you say that? not being a smart a$$ just would honestly like to hear why you think he is better than the other guys, particularly davis.

No need to be shocked. Not that it means anything, but Pender is ranked considerably higher than Davis in all major recruiting ranking services (Rivals, Scout, ESPN). He has a better offer list and IMO is a better overall back. I have watched film on both and I personally like Pender better. Both are great RBs though.

I think the main thing that seperates Pender from Brown is excellent speed and acceleration.

see i havent watched much on pender casue i figured he was a lost cause, if all this shannon stuff becomes true then i guess we are somewhat back in the race, plus it looks like he has delayed his EE status for now so maybe that gives us a window. i will watch some of his film now and see what i think. of the guys on the list he is actually the one i know the least about, probably time to change that.

went and watched some pender film and the kids speed is unreal, not a bruiser by any means but still a slippery back with blazing speed. looks kinda like coker. would like to change my vote if i could, dont get me wrong would be happy with any of the guys on the list but pender is def number one for me now with davis as two and bourque/williams tied at three.

I knew you would see it my way. Haha. I agree though. Unreal speed by Pender. Very tricky to get a hand on.

BTW, would love if we could get either Davis/Pender AND pull Bourque from LSU.

Best case scenario, IMO.

yeah im a little ashamed that i havent watched it until now. if shannon can help land this kid, get him in here immediately. i know he plays in miami but how is the competition where hes at? is he at a 5 or 6a school? anyone know if it is comparable to the competition that davis faces?

Pender plays against pretty good FLA HS competition. He plays for Island Coast which is 6A Florida HS football. They play some pretty good teams such as Fort Meyers.

Davis plays for Stone Mountain in GA which is apparently 3A Georgia HS football. They play Woodward, Columbia, and Cedar Grove. Pretty good competition there too.

I'd say Pender plays against a little better competition, but it is close. Davis sure doesn't play against scrubs.
