I was thinking about this last night (as I mowed the yard) and wondered how people think CLK's past few months may affect the poll voting.

Coaches poll- I'm sure some are tired of hearing about UT every day. They also realize that they are now competing for the best recruits against a guy who clearly has name recognition everywhere. UT starts getting back in the national rankings and the players in their backyard are tougher to keep home. Some probably just don't like the guy.

AP- These guys must be thanking their lucky stars that CLK came along so they can quit writing Tebow stories (only so many ways to spin a circumcision). He's filled airtime and print and actually made their jobs much easier. I'm sure some will stick to the "he's an idiot" line no matter what but many will learn that he knows what he's doing.

Maybe I'm getting ahead of myself by thinking about rankings for a 5-7 team that had one of the worst offenses I've ever seen but I'm an optimist. It is just summer chatter after all

you have a point here. sure people (coaches) hate him, but on that same token i guarantee there'll be coaches and media members who admire his poineering approach to relivening a morose program. for every bad poll spot we get, there will be a very high one
