Given the injury to Kirkland and the lack of depth at linebacker (we all knew this was an issue).....what is a scenario you would like to see?

My guess is that we experiment this game to see who works best giving 3-4 different combo's of LB's.

Personally, I would like to see D. Bates take over, we saw Jumper last year without much success (too slow for the pass game).

Need to add an option that lets the coaches decide what is best given their evaluation of the players.

You all know if they use say JRM (or one of the others) at middle and they don't work out you all will be complaining about that.

The skill there, based on my understanding, requires more than pure athletic ability. You put the wrong person there and the defense, no matter what the talent level, will not be successful.

Added:

So do you use someone who can recognize and make the adjustments and have the other 10 adjust for any differences in athletic ability?

Or do you use someone who cannot recognize and make the adjustments and hope the 11 end up in the right place at the right time?

take off the tinfoil hat and stop looking at your sister with those leery eyes. no such conspiracies exist. Whether or not you guys see it or not Jumper has won his spot as backup MLB until someone beats him its his.

What if... Every LB on the roster for 2017 forward performs exceedingly well no matter where they line up on the field? Completely interchangeable with stunning productivity in any alignment. A linebacker corps the envy of all FBS. Wouldn't that be just orange? Hmm?

I'm more excited about Jones saying that Bates and Bryant will get opportunities in this game as well. Man that would be sweet if after all this time Bates was just waiting for his chance to show what he's got. You'd think after a top 100 prospect guy has had to sit for two years, he'd be ready to rip someone's head off. Fingers crossed...

why not go with a 5-2-4 defense this way you get good pass rushers Barnett kongbo Vereen tuttle mckensie on the field at the same time.
