If Holly is going to play a platoon system she needs to balance it out more. That first group just can't score 4 points in their four minutes yesterday.
The second group came in and quickly got it up to 11 to 3 with a quick 8 points.
I think Holly may eventually learn that our best point guard may be Middleton. She sees the floor better than anyone else and her passes are right on the money. She is also a better scoring option than Reynolds.

Graves is not a /very good/ player. She is one dimensional--a rebounder. She is a pretty good rebounder, and I suppose she plays decent defense, but she does not have a good all-around game, and without that you cannot be a 'very good' player. She doesn't handle the ball well, cannot take the ball to the basket, is not a good passer, and she cannot really score except on offensive rebound putbacks or layups. We have a number of one-dimensional players, most of whom do not develop much--in the sense of developing skills that the did not have when they got here-- during their four years at UT. Coaches need to tackle player weaknesses from the start of their first year; if you don't, they settle into their one-dimensional comfort zone and what you end up with is a team of one-dimensional players--and a not very good team. You get a player like Graves, for example, you have to make her shoot (open) jumpers in practice and in games; make her shoot the basketball. Nicky Anosike, when she was here, was an absolute beast defensively--a very athletic big--but she had no confidence at all on offense. She did not start shooting 8 to 12-foot jumpers until the NCAA tournament her SENIOR year. We won two national titles with her and Parker anyway--but imagine if she'd developed more offensively by, say, her sophomore year? And there are many, many players like this. Some players just don't develop very quickly, but in a lot of cases they are not pushed hard enough by the coaches to strengthen the weak parts of their games.
