There will obviously be a lot of knee jerk opinions formed in this poll decision. But try to step back and give an honest opinion on where you stand with Butch as of today

Same way I was before last night's game...great recruiter, but jury is still out on game-day/practice coaching. I wish that part was settled in my mind and the longer it takes for it to be settled, the worse off we are.

I'll say what I said last season.

Tennessee will (eventually) thank Butch for everything he has done and send him on his way. He has increased the talent level. He has brought Tennessee back to respectability. He has done a lot of good as opposed to some of the previous coaching hires.

However, he is not the guy to get Tennessee where you want them to go.

I'm still fully comfortable with butch and behind him 100%. It takes an absolute man to do what he has. He had the hottest pile of burnt dung when he came here and now we're a competitor. If the 2015-16 Tennessee team played the 11-12 Tennessee team it would be a manslaughter. However he did make a horrible hire in Debord. Mahoney should of been let go as well. Until he proves me otherwise, he is still the coach that's going to take us all the way. He's done everything that he said he's going to do so far. Everything's going to be okay and we're still going to be the east champions ✌

I was actually impressed with him last night. I didn't see the usual fear on his face I saw last year.

He was surprising calm and confident even in the face of incredible adversity.

I was impressed.

Please vote. Sorry.

I need an option that is somewhere between the first two. I think he's capable of winning at a high level here and there. Not sure if he can do that consistently.

I was impressed.

The same adversity that he created with a poor gameplan and by not having his team ready to play.

Agreed.

Even when the refs were screwing us left and right (yeah let's send it to Alabama to see if Tennessee scored a TD Fn ridiculous) he stayed calm and collected.

Even asked them nicely WTF they were thinking instead of screaming at them.

No issues with Butch or Debo for this game. The Oline really needs Chance back from that injury but we are still weeks away unfortunately. I think Hurd and the whole team had read to many press clippings and seen the a Vegas line and not focused on really good team

I believe we had more confirmation of our insights from last year. Great recruiter, questionable coach. We now seem to have the talent to compete with the big boys but struggle against Appy State. Our O-line was actually out played. And, how does Dobbs still have so much trouble throwing the ball? Coaching? At least our vaunted D did not give up points in the second half. This game makes me fear that most 'better coached' teams will beat us unless we get a fair number of breaks.

I'll say this....under the dools leadership we would not have adjusted like we did and would have lost....team was looking over App St.....thus will make the team focus better now instead of going into next week big headed and possibly laying an egg....it's better to get the ugly win out of the way....#undefeated

I just don't see Butch having a bad enough season to get fired anytime soon, especially with the East looking awful. Unless Tennessee has a surefire home run hire begging for the job on the heels of Butch going 8-4 or 7-5, he's the guy for the foreseeable future, even if Kirby and Mac clamp down on the East moving forward. After 2008-2014, the AD and big money people will be hesitant to fire a guy who recruits well and gets Tennessee to bowl games consistently (and wins them).

after 1 game this year....really?

I'm not jumpin' on anyone's bandwagon and can only really find fault in 1 loss in his 3 years...and it'd be UF last year. However, I also put part of the blame on the D not executing late, which I think was due to losing Maggitt and quality depth more than anything.

Something was definitely off last night....not ready to put my finger on it yet and will see how the next few games pan out before voting.

Willing to stay the course. I believe in Butch.

He's improved the quality of players and the team as much as anyone would have predicted. Some coaches seem to more with less but, that never seems long lived. I want to believe he's building something great that's meant to last. Apparently he is well liked by Mom's, Dad's, HS Students, and much so by his players. A few good wins in the next couple of weeks will go along way in quietening the naysayers. With the talent at every position, it's up to him to have the right players at the right place. In our own jobs we make mistakes and bad decisions. He's done the same. I believe he is the type to learn from those. He won't admit he made a mistake and that's OK as long as he says to himself "Well, I won't do that again".

September 10th can't get here soon enough. I feel like the offseason has been extended.

No doubt in my mind we come out and dominate VT and all the negavols and opposing fans yapping their traps can crawl back into the hole they came from.

Need a replace Debord selection - he seems to be the real problem - a pro set OC trying to run a DT offense just wont work these days --- like VFL34 said in the game thread - he is Jones, Sunseri ( and I also add Fulmers Klawson) Sometimes hiring friends does not work out well and in this case it didnt

Under dools leadership we would have let up 400 rushing yards.

I wouldn't mention Debord and sunseri together in my life. Debord is bad but sunseri.. Sunseri was god awful
