Plenty of teams want to hire Bruce.

I've heard graduates from vandy, ole miss, auburn, Memphis, Alabama, ga and sc basically say they would trade for BP today and not think twice about it. See facebook posts, tagged on emails.
Whether you want to admit it or not, the decision makers have to consider everything and the possibility of your career going down the tubes as BP is killing it down the road better be on the list of things to consider. BP at least buys you time and if you get burned, fans won't be so harsh. Basically, if Hart wants to work for a few more years then ride off in the sunset with a good fb team and his best efforts at getting the bball team back, that's the way I'd plan it out. Sounds like a win for everybody. Well, maybe not for a couple hundred.

Bruce Pearl could have Calipari type of success at a place like Memphis. That would be pretty amazing with his style and all of those athletes in his back yard.

To put it simply, yes. He has broken 'code' twice now. By telling the NCAA about infractions of competing coaches (and what turned out to be minor/no infraction) and for lying to the NCAA. Two big no-no's in the eyes of the people that matter in hiring a college coach. Do fans like you and me care about that, nope. Fans at lots of colleges would have no problem deciding to hire Pearl. Unfortunately, fans do not hire coaches. And he has made mistakes that prideful powerful AD's will hold against him. Again, some AD out there will say screw that and hire him anyways. But they will not be lined up at the door like some on here think.

So, if Cuonzo Martin had evidence that Kentucky was paying recruits $100,000, you would want him to keep his mouth shut? That is ridiculous. You would not see me shed a tear if Coach Cal gets burned by the NCAA. It was a similarly hated rivalry between Iowa and Illinois.

If no one is willing to report agregious violations, please explain why any school should even pretend to conform to NCAA regulations? In nearly ALL cases, someone rats someone out. I'm not hearing a drum-beat of protests around the country when other teams go on NCAA probabtion anymore. I am convinced that Uban Myer turned Tennessee in when Kiffin was here. That didn't seem to matter much to Ohio State.

Pearl has been harshly penalized for lying about having high school juniors at his house - a situation that is no longer against NCAA regulations.

Compare Pearl's penalty to that of Missouri's head coach Mike Haith who, according to the NCAA, attempted to cover up booster's threats to disclose information and who had knowledge of cash payments to players. So, Pearl lied about a bar-b-que, and Haith lied about cash payments, etc. Pearl gets 3+ years show-cause, and Haith gets 5 games.

Most people can see the inequality here, and will make offers of employment accordingly.

Obviously, you believe that Pearl is a cancer to most teams and won't be getting any/many offers. The August Show-Cause date is a bit awkward for a new coach to arrive, but, if not this year, then certainly by next year, I believe Pearl will be coaching on a high level in the NCAA.

Check back in the spring of 2015, and I think we will know how other teams really feel.

Actually that antiquated thinking on turning in known violating in out..,, in fact if proven you KNEW about a NCAA violation and did nothing about it can be a VIOLATION!!!!

The bottom line is Pearl will coach again. It probably want be for us. We want be beating the big boys for a while like we used to no matter who is coach. Looks like were headed for rebuilding after this season. We can't even win enough with what we got this season. It will be a while before we beat two seeds again.

Auburn really would be a great fit. This community is waiting to support a winner. The Arena only holds like 9K so it wouldnt take much winning to sell it out.

They played for a NC this year. That's all they need is another sport competing for 2 to 5 seed.

If Bruce Pearl ends up at any other SEC School I am not sure what will be burned on the campus. Boards will implode. There is a chance that this will happen, though and that is just sad.

If Hart rehires Bruce the fan base will be more content with a pretty good record at a packed TBA, than Bruce coaching and winning elsewhere, unless Hart's "other" choice builds a significant contender and Bruce is a flop elsewhere. Either way the 2014-15 season will have to be deep into the schedule before we can be make a reasonable determination. Better odds to BBB, IMHO.

Wake Forrest is another possibility. And FTR, people can say what they want about how bad UT fans talk about Martin but we are no where near as bad as Wake fans. They put an ad in the newspaper and a freakin billboard to let Jeff Bzdelik know they weren't happy. Just saying Martin...things can always be worse lol

I just had an Idea :muahaha:

I'll be willing to bet he won't be at UGA or Bama next year. No matter how much money Bama has, $5 mil and 5 years left on a contract is a lot of money for a sport they don't care a lot about.

It's my understanding that Bama has a pretty good recruiting class coming in. I'd say they give their current coach another go at it. Unless they feel Pearl can do better with them.

I think you're exactly right leaving only the barn to possibly go after a coach. I don't think BP goes there. I did hear somewhere that BC was chanting 'we want Bruce' at a game the other evening.

They had a "We Want Bruce" at the end of the season last year and the coach looked like he wanted to run and hide (which is natural).
