Please tell me that CDD didn't pick Sunseri over Bumpas and CLT

We won't know for sure until the press conference, but someone please tell me that he didn't pass on Bumpas/CLT... I wonder if Hart pressured him to take Sunseri since he is a Bama guy....:clapping:


II have been behind CDD the whole way, but it seems to be getting harder everyday to support CDD and UT...:cray:

I don't see what everyone has against Sunseri...good hire imo. Just got a BCS national championship ring as well as being an excellent recruiter and a very good position coach. Oh wait let me guess, he's not Randy Shannon.

No he may do great and I hope he does (if this is true) but at the same time no one knows cause he has never done it before. As for recruiting, no offense to him but these kids are going to Bama because of Saban.

I don't have anything against him to be honest... I just hope CDD/Hart didn't pick him over Bumpas and CLT... I think Bumpas is light years better than a LB coach from another school plus we need promote CLT instead of hiring a LB coach from another school..

There is a slight difference between what Sunseri's LB's accomplished this year and what CLT's accomplished... just saying.

Bumpas was never going to leave TCU, can't believe anybody ever thought that was a legitimate chance. Him and Patterson will not leave. As far as CLT goes, CLT and Sunseri both have very similar resumes. The main difference is sunseri's time as an nfl defensive line coach which is what recruits such as goldman like about. With all that being said, to me CLT vs Sunseri was a wash. However, if we promoted CLT to defensive coordinator we still have two slots on staff to fill. For those two positions, who are we going to add that is the caliber of sunseri? The answer is nobody. When we couldn't get coaches like bennett or shannon, then this was the hire that gave us the best possible defensive staff.

I think he'd be a very solid hire as well. I've given up on them selecting Shannon, not gonna happen.

Check out his previous stats as DC. Nothing is very awe-inspiring about them. Could turn out to be a good DC, though. Who knows?

I too have been a Dooley supporter & agree it's becoming a much more difficult thing to do;

I will always be a loyal supporter of the University nothing will ever change that. Coaches, however, there's definitely a line & this decision will undoubtedly determine which side of the line Dooley falls on. Whoever he brings in I will be hoping they do a great job. I'm just to the point where I've heard enough excuses, it's time for some action, & 6 or 7 wins won't be enough, it's time for some real positive strides.

if this is true LT needs a raise.would hate to lose him,he has been loyal to TN.he could have bolted when the last crew left.
