a group of friends and i are planning on going to the arkansas game this season. is there any possible way to get 6 seats together, or will it most likely have to be 3 pairs? also, what would you say would be the best hotel (price and location big factor) to stay at, and when should i make reservations? thanks so much for the help!

No idea about tickets - but it is a good trip. We stayed in Little Rock several years ago when we made the trip. Have fun and bring in a win.

That's exactly right - I need to go back home and get out of this office. It's not like I don't have season tickets and usually can recite all the details. Good Lord.

Ticket availability will be tied directly to the team's performance in September and October. As for hotels, I would book one now. Call the downtown hotels first, then work you way outward, if those are unavailable.

You could probably find 6 together being scalped, but that would cost you. 3 pairs would be cheaper, and if the team isn't doing well you could easily all find a place to sit together after the 1st quarter.

If the team is doing well by that point in the season, I would just get 3 pairs, and get back together after the game. But I am thrifty that way.

Hey VolNation! I'm a first time poster and need some help as well. I'm from Memphis and usually make 1 game a year. I just got tickets to UT vs ga and need a little help. I never have really had a great tailgating experience in Knoxville(Maybe the Florida game where it rained the entire weekend, '02? CC fumbleitis?). Anyway, I usually spend $20 to park about a mile away in a parking lot somewhere with no restrooms or trees or anything, which can be a problem when your with females several hours before the game drinking. Any tips for good locations, good bars, etc. would be much appreciated. Getting there early is not a problem!

See if you can find a gas station around. The bathroom in convenient store is usually open to public. We usually solve our problems at a Pilot convenient store on the strip.

We usually stay just outside Knoxville before you get to the pigeon forge exit...It's about a 30 minute ride back into Knoxville but the traffic isn't as bad as having to come in from the west side. Rates will still be doubled though and its usually a two night minimum.

The parking behind the copper pot on the strip and the retail stores along the strip offer plenty of fun tailgating and plenty of restrooms...McDonald's, gas stations, walgreens, etc. Make sure you pack up and head over for the Vol Walk early...and the Vol Mall area has jumpies and stuff for kids...

Most of the downtown hotels that are not flearidden pits (and even some of those) will require a 2 night stay to book a room on a game weekend. You're talking $200-$300 per night. The upside is you are right there and can walk to most everything you will want to do. Often, I only want to stay the night of the game and I usually get something in West Knoxville since that is the direction I head out the next day. There are myraid hotels near West Town Mall and you will generally spend $100-$150 per night at one of the cleaner chains (Hampton, H.Inn Select, etc.). If you stay near the mall and head to campus early you can take Kingston Pike. Many of the restaurants you see along Kingston will stay open past normal closing hours on a game night.
