Please fix the new season ticket holder seats

Interesting so did they actually replace them with a new design or just adjust the ones from last year?

They are the same ones from last year, they adjusted the recline by one notch, it was something that was done on most of the seats midway through last year. They didn’t actually remove the seats after last season, left them in place for everybody that renewed their season tickets.

I had ours removed after the first two games last year. They were hell for the people behind us and they were not comfortable…the front of the plastic seat cut into your legs when you tried to stand up.

I wish the old cushion seats were still an option. I have 8 seats together and it was nice to have the seats installed because it defined your seats…crowding from the adjacent seats is often an issue. The cushion and back support was a plus.

I wish UT woulda taken the $ loss and switched to a better design for this year or gone back to the old design.

The notice says they adjusted them so they don't recline back as far (which is the biggest issue we had, the people in front leaning back and wrecking our knees.)

But it pissed hubby off enough last year he doesn't want them at all, regardless. He's just gonna carry in cushions from now on
I re-upped them this year just in case, but I'll believe it when I see it.

100% that's the best thing about any of the seats.

These seats nearly started a brawl in our section! We have them, the folks in front of us have them. My husband had to keep his knees tightly behind the man seated in front of him (which cuts into your knees), otherwise the guy was sitting in our lap! This guy was really offended because my husband would not move his legs....it's ridiculous!!

As chitty as the new ones are, I still renewed them because of this.

You should’ve cut him

My seat didn't have a seat back, but the couple in front of me did. By the end of the half, the lady was complaining how uncomfortable the seat back was and was sitting on the other side of her man, on a patch of regular bleacher.

I'm 6'-3", and my knees are usually de facto backrests for people in front of me anyhow. I'm used to it at this point. That said, my knees apparently provided more back support to those folks than the seat backs themselves since the seat backs reclined so freely. Gotta wonder if they can be adjusted with a hex key or something to increase resistance(?).
Exactly. You have somebody in your lap in darn near every seat in the house and about 14 inches width for your own seat. Heaven forbid you get some wide load on your row that takes their seat and half of somebody else’s. Everybody gets squeezed. Of course that’s how we get 100,000 in the seats and I doubt that’s ever changing.

There's a lot of issues with Neyland seating but a lot of it boils down to the design and the changing size of spectators. The lower bowl, I believe, was designed in the 1920s. There's really no data going back that far but based on data tracking that started in the 1960s, it's estimated the average US male back then was 5'7" and 155lbs. Today we're around 5'9" and 199lbs.
Ever just looked at folks on the street as you walk around? Obesity is out of control in this country.
