I have two tickets that I will be selling at the game. I'll be sure not to sell them to scalpers.

My parents graduated in 1951 and had season tickets...eight tickets between the 20 and 30 yard line...My dad always took customers so as a kid, I got to see a lot of Vandy and Kentucky games...only once did I get his Bama tickets and then only 2...I thought it was 1978 (but it could have been 1980) - all I know is we were greatly overmatched, it was pouring rain with a gray sky that said it wasn't going to quit, the game was on TV and there was a big screen projection TV at a bar on the strip where me and buddy were drinking beer so when a bama fan offered me $100 for the tickets, I gladly took it...

It was during Johnny Majors rebuild - he went 21 - 23 in his first 4 years but keep in mind he only had 15 players drafted by the NFL during those years...Butch is sitting at 26 - 18 and has had 3 players drafted....

1980..bama 27-0, called a to with about a minute left on goal line to punch in another one if I remember correctly..majors would never have survived to get to 85-91 success in today's environment. He is one of only coaches I can remember that has taken over a historically great(say top 10-15) program whose tenure would be considered successful and who didn't have it rolling by year 3-4. If a coach is going to succeed at such a program the rebuild happens almost immediately..think harbaugh saban peterson stoops etc
