I just downloaded the free 7 day trial of this on the PS4 and I have to say...I'm pretty darn impressed with it. Everything played smoothly and I experienced very little lag whatsoever. Of course it doesn't hurt that I have fast internet (100mbps download speed). I streamed Final Fantasy 13, God of War Ascension, Killzone 3, The Walking Dead Season 1, and Bioshock Infinite. All of them played extremely well on my PS4!

Right now the subscription offers are 19.99 per month unlimited or 44.99 for 3 months unlimited.

Also, more PS3 titles along with PS1 and PS2 titles are coming to the library as well.

Those of you with a PS4 I encourage you to at least try out the free trial. I was pleasantly surprised.

Sounds like it'll be awesome until it gets hacked and subscriber details are released.

This seemed like a great idea until I remembered that emulators exist.

I would never pay a fee to play games from older consoles. Just not my thing.

I like the idea that Sony is trying to preserve it's legacy of games from all Playstations past, plus this at least does provide a solution to the PS4's lack of backwards compatibility. I never played FF13 on PS3 so I'm currently enjoying that.

backwards compatibility should be a free service, IMO. A way to reward gamers for sticking with a console brand.

Not falling for this money grab.

Sony loses money on every console it sells, it's just trying to recoup some of those losses. The problem is that $240/year is kind of steep to stream a game you've probably already played (your example of FF 13 notwithstanding).

A game, yes. But the subscription gives you access to the entire Now library, which as of now is over 100 games and it's growing. Plus remember, it's only 240 a year if you do one month subscriptions. If you do 3 month subscriptions it's 180.00 a year.

Look I realize the service isn't for everyone but personally I think it's a pretty good value if you take advantage of it.
