Keep one thing in mind...you have to have DISCIPLINE. Someone HAS to be the boss. Can't let the inmates run the jail.

This is in no way disputing what you said, but just an FYI: I was listening to Bobby Johnson's call-in show last night too and he talked about how he has a "players' council," with one representative of each position (which I didn't take to mean literally but like, say, the D-line has its rep, etc.). He said he and his assistants get together with the council and decide things, like practice schedules, what to do the night before a game (go to a movie, go bowling, etc.), problems and other things.
I thought it was sort of interesting.
