Players who did not get a fair shake

IIRC Jalen Hurd wanted to switch positions because he knew he didn't have a future at RB in the NFL, and Butch said too bad so sad.
My recollection of that is the opposite. Seems I remember it being said he was thought to have a higher ceiling on defense, but he wouldn't consider anything other than RB.

That said, I also recall my recollection ain't what it used to be....

Any player who had to play under Dooley, Butch and Pruitt didn’t get a fair shake having to listen to those morons.

But in all seriousness outside of course Inky’s injury if Jerry Colquitt doesn’t get injured in 94 he would be remembered alongside Hooker, Dobbs, Clausen, and Kelly as a really good qb for us if not better.

Guarantano.

It didn't work out the way he wanted,. We absolutely crucified him. He still is a vfl, even for all the crap he went through. I'm not sure we've ever given him a fair shake
How many different coaches/OCs did he have? I think he and Crompton both were victims of this

I always thought Chris Hannon should have gotten more touches. He did have the misfortune of playing in the dark ages of QBs in the latter part of his career, but I thought he could have stretched the field better than anyone else on our roster. I was always surprised he lost playing time to some of our much slower WRs.

I don’t know what fans you are talking about. I think he was well embraced.
Nah, not at first. It wasn’t due to his play either. One, he was a Cali kid and had that look about him. Second, he had a demeanor off the field that people disliked. That ended as he matured and became older but, people still held those two things against him. However, he was a good QB-better than just serviceable.
