This is another sign of this crap going down BAD.

Chris Walker's mother was on Volquest earlier after she talked to Chris on the phone. He's very frustrated with being told he's 2nd team on the DE and seeing no action in the game.

Kenny O'Neal was frustrated in postgame interviews, saying it's on the coaches for not getting him in.

Demonte Bolden had some "meltdown" type comments after the game.

Players are unhappy, especially those who have "talent" and aren't playing. This could be 2005 redux. Watch out.

This was my biggest fear. Tennessee players being upset, and probably regretting coming to Tennessee. It doesn't say alot for future recruiting.

I swear I saw somewhere or heard where Fulmer was going to get Donald into the game. I kind of quit watching after the scoop and score did he ever get in?

i remember hearing about something similar to this happening during halftime of the 2002 rutgers game. i was at that game. i know that rutgers ran the opening kickoff back for a touchdown and they might've been leading at halftime. one of our players (can't remember which one) apparently came into the locker room throwing stuff around in a tirade and just generally going nuts. might have had an effect for the rest of the game but nothing more after that.

tennessee went on to win the game 35-13 but that was another mediocre season (finished 8-5). we had lost to florida before that and we went on to lose to georgia, alabama, miami, and got crushed by maryland in the peach bowl.

i believe that was the first time we had lost to florida, georgia, and alabama all in the same season in many many years. it was after that season where the disappearance of our competitiveness in the sec became more obvious.

Well some of them have a right to be upset. If there is any talent setting over on the bench that could help our team, they should be in the game at some point.I can't believe these current starters are what Cpf thought we could win with.We have step slow reciever's,a fullback playing tailback.A bunch of sissy's playing O-line.Don't even get me started on what i think about our so-called defense.

If you lose the players this early in the season it is OVER.

You will lose recuits too, and maybe a few key transfers.

One way out for Fulmer (and a think he is gone) is to move Trooper (a player favorite) to DC and start playing all the freshman. If a freshman is close in talent to a senior -- sit the senior and build for the future.

Might as will get them ready and early playing time brings in recuits.

I hope they do get pissed. Maybe then they will play with a little emotion instead of a daze.

This is very bad news. It's obvious this team is not that close and doesn't have a lot of chemistry.

Yeah, we were ranked #2 to start the year, and at the time the 8-4 regular season and that was the worst regular season we had had under Fulmer. Everyone said it was just a little hiccup and we would be back to our old selves. Well, now it seems that 8-4 seasons have become par for the course at best.

8-4 this year would be a shock

Reminds me of Majors last year (after he came back prematurely from the bypass surgery). Friend of mine who used to be a starter for the Vols told me if Majors hadn't been canned about half of the team was ready to leave!

I have no idea why our more talented players like O Neal aren't getting into the game. Rogers proved yesterday that he is not SEC starting receiver material.

we have to assume that players not yet playing have issues. Either less talented, too stupid to figure out the playbook, not enough heart or lazy in practice.

This chronology matches up with my theory that the beginning of the end was the 2001 SECCG - talk about a team unprepared for a game. I think UT thought they would have to just show up and LSU would rollover. And I think it started immediately after the victory over UF at the swamp. I will never forget my jaw dropping open - while watching the TV - when I saw Fulmer step off the bus & walk out to Tom Black Track for a friggin' celebration (whose bright idea was that?!) & Fulmer was waving a rose around. I'm sure someone probably just handed them out, but he should have been smart enough to say no thank you. I knew then we were in trouble, I'm not saying I knew we would lose to LSU, cause i still felt like we were very talented, but I knew for sure then that we had gone from being a hungry, up-&-coming team to a "fat & happy" one. (which of course ties in with the mellowing after 98 NC). Looks like UF has handled that success much better than we did.

That's my point it seems that having a "decent" season now seems to be the goal, whereas in the past we aimed for SEC or even National Championships. 8-4 now seems to be what we are shooting for and that is unacceptable.

No UF has a no BS AD in foley. He saw the writing on the wall during the zooker's tenure.Lets all not forget zook brought in top talent and urban won a title with his player's and the man still got fired.Foley is smart i wish our idiot AD was more than a blind phil apologist.

this is the first time i've ever said this, but losing in that manner to anyone is unacceptable. it's time for a change. there, i've said it, and it really was the first time i've thought it. this is the biggest embarrassment i've ever seen.

A good coach could win with our current talent. Changes must be made expediantly or 7-5 will become an acceptable season. We won't be replacing our current talent soon, we've got to take advantage of our FR class.

Yes, in the sense that that team was our last team to truly be stocked with NFL quality talent on both sides of the ball. Looking through there are tons of players from that team that are either still in the league or at least got a shot. Jason Witten, Kevin Burnett, Donte Stallworth, Rashad Baker, Cedrick Houston, Dustin Colquitt, Eric Parker, Fred Weary, Scott Wells, John Henderson and Kelley Washington are all still on rosters in the NFL and I may have missed a few others. But also, Will OVerstreet got a look from the Falcons, and I seem to recall someone giving Travis Stephens a shot. Other than Erik Ainge and Eric Berry IF he continues down his present path, who can you guys see from this team that would even get a look from an NFL team. I had always bought into this crap that the talent level had not fallen off, but after examining this fact, I think I should reconsider my position on that.

this team definitely has some NFL talent, it's just being poorly prepared and deployed

Great thought G J. A good coach would win with this talent.

That could be true, hopefully at least the NFL scouts will be able to pick out the raw talent and maybe some of these guys can go on to good things at another level with better coaching.

Well if there is a silver lining it seeing more and more fans say what alot of us have thought for the last 2-3 years, its time Fulmer to step down and i think they should go outside of the family and bring a good coach in.Look how OKLA.did they stayed in the family hiring head coach after head coach for 5-6 years then finally wised up went outside of Sooner family and got Stoops.
