The big gashes and quick scores have killed us the most.

Our guys have been out of position trying to keep up with the new scheme, and they don't have catch-up speed.

We'll give up 30-35 and 400, but it'll take Mizzou longer and there's more time for them to make mistakes.

It can't be any worse than what we've seen so far, can it?

I thought that was kinda what we were doing last week. It seems we kept two safeties way deep most of the time.

Dools caught a lot of flake for that 3rd and 26 play at USCjr where he only had one safety deep

Right. With the prevent, 2 safeties are back and we get a pick.

Playing without a kicker would suite me as well. No punting allowed and on side kicks every time

Are we sure Sal knows what prevent defense is? When you give up 3rd and 18 constantly. I want to ask Chavis for forgiveness for all the 3rd and Chavis Stuff.

We can't play a Prevent Defense because we can't prevent much of anything. Suggest a name change to an Allow Defense which better describes what we have been seeing.

I dont know if thats a good idea. Team could potentially pile up 700 plus yards and over 40 points against us.

Honest to god at this point they ought to just tell the players to go out there and play pickup ball. My Saturday morning flag fball team is more intimidating than what Sal 'Single High' Sunseri is rolling out there

The defense should have players only meeting and refuse to listen to that idiot Sunseri - use last seasons plays

they will throw 10-20 bubble screen passes, the other WR will hold up Gordon, PWagg, or Coleman, and they will get enough for a first down. Our D will KNOW they are going to do this and will still get burned....

And 3 people went for the ball jumping in front of the receiver when all they had to do was tackle him on the 5 if he caught it. This is the dumbest group (players and coaches) I've seen. That play was pathetic.

we still can't tackle very well so I fail to see the logic.

I think Troy ran the draw against the nickel/dime defense about 8-10 times, and averaged about 30 yards/carry. Not gonna work.

I think the OP is right. Can't get to the QB anyway. Might as well play contain. Let them get tired of running up and down the field kicking FGs. They need as many guys with speed and that are good tacklers as they can get on the field no matter what position they play.

I know this is not going to be greeted well here, but the Chavis mustang defense helped Bama beat LSU last Saturday. LSU gave up a score on the last series before the half, and the last drive by Bama was a classic Mustang TD. LSU had been successful all night pressing Bama, but lost their nerve on the last series of both halves. Pure Chavis.
