Pitt was unfair to Vols

I think people are making too big a deal of this. I don’t know of any Tennessee fan that has been unable to find tickets to the game. Sure it’d be nice to have seats together, but it’s not like tickets are unavailable for Tennessee travelers.

It is more fun to make a big deal out of nothing though.

To be clear, there is one section in the lower bowl for visiting fans and one section in the upper bowl for visiting fans. This is true for every opponent that visits Heinz/Acrisure, all visiting schools are offered those same sets of tickets. There is even sometimes a 2nd visiting section added in the upper bowl to meet visitor demand. Also, there is more seats in the lower bowl visiting section than just what was accepted for the band, those lower bowl seats could have been sold to TENN fans.

So, I have no idea what the backstory or is why your AD didn't provide these tickets for TENN fans. Also, Acrisure Stadium is not exactly the LA Coliseum or Neyland, it is an 'intimate' 68K capacity stadium build in the last 20ish years, with great sight lines. There really aren't bad seats. I have sat in the upper bowl/500 sections for many Steelers games and it is fine enough.

Tennessee should have worked this out when they inked the home and away. Being outraged about it looks really silly.
Yes. This should be in the contracts of home and home non conference series.
As for conference games, the SEC once had a policy that 10% of capacity had to be offered to the visitors with a certain amount of that having to be lower level.
in reality, few fan bases in the SEC travel that well and they end up returning many tickets to the home school.
will be interesting to see if Texas and OU travel well in the SEC.

Bitch move by Pitt. If TN had done the same, all sports media would be calling for UT to get the Death Penalty!

is that true? i always thought SEC fan bases traveled well. i mean i have no basis for that since we never play SEC teams, just the perception I had.

Not to worry. I expect a lot of seats to start opening up after the 1st quarter.

I think South Carolina and Arkansas are in the "travels well when the team is good" category with Tennessee.

This seems like a media manufactured controversy. Who cares? There are plenty of good tickets available online at reasonable prices if you want to go to the game.

Although, it looks like Pat Narduzzi might be thin-skinned to the suggestion that their fans can't fill (formerly Heinz) Stadium. So, there is that I guess.
