Hammond isn't the starting RB (though many Pitt fans want him to be). The starter is Abanikanda. Hammond is 2nd.Starting RB and DE are/were injured last in week’s game. not sure about their status for this week.
He'll just play the same card he did about WV, not a good opponent and was just playing really bad and down to their level basically. I assume he'll say something like that again regardless of the outcome. He seems to be placing a lot of emphasis on this contest. Seems tightly wound. Post game should be epic when we pound his eyes shut.
From the little we know, WVU isn't a good opponent. Whether that's Pitt or they were "playing down" remains to be seen. He'll just play the same card he did about WV, not a good opponent and was just playing really bad and down to their level basically. If anyone on Pitt's side gets injured , hopefully it's their coach. He's got a Spurrier level mouth and I'm quickly wanting Heupel to shut him up more than anyone on our schedule.
Did Pitt have an OL out also for the WVU game? If so, will that guy be back next week? You will get no injury info/updates from the Pitt staff. If Hammond is out, that is a big blow for our offense. He may be #2 on the depth chart, but is our best RB at hitting the hole hard and always falling forward. The starter, Izzy, has great speed and is elusive in space, but doesn't seem to run powerfully despite a solid build. No hammond = no power running.
We had a LB, Brandon George, miss last week and that contributed a good bit to WVU running all over us. George is technically the 2nd string MLB, but Pitt often uses him at MLB on early downs and slides our #1 MLB (Dennis) to OLB. George is effectively a starter on running downs. No idea if he will be back for this game, but if not, running will come easier for TENN.
Kinda fun when opposing coaches get snippy. The drama adds a little extra spice to the already high excitement level for the game. I’d definitely take Narduzzi’s sardonic attitude over Jimbo’s holier than thou act over the offseason. It will be extra fun to steamroll Pitt.He was pretty arrogant in that press conference for sure.
Well, borovol’s sources say it’s the result of a taint sprain. For those not familiar, this is indeed what Spurrier had too. It’s why he always had this look on his face.

Not gonna lie, I kind of miss his barbs.

Yes, our starting Right Tackle missed the WVU game. Per usual, no info on why or when he will be back.
I hate to say this because will come across as a slight to him, but his presence or absence won't effect the game much either way. There is little difference between him and the backups. He's an average, solid OL player but so are his backups. He's actually a better guard than tackle. He was the starter due to age/seniority/experience. He is better in pass blocking than his backup Goncalves, which fit better with our offense last year. Goncalves whiffs too much in pass blocking, but is solid in run blocking and our current staff likes to run more. Against WVU, in obvious pass situations, they put our backup Left Tackle B. Taylor in at RT for Goncalves.
