Pippen says LeBron is best ever

Good stuff.

You will probably get blasted for it though.

Nice article. Favorite quote:

People who only care about "points scored" in a box score are the same kind of people who think the waiter made the soufflé.

This is what I'm always talking about. Sports fans and the media tend to greatly overvalue scoring when assessing players. We have this idea that you can't be a star unless you score. You can do everything else on the court, but if you don't score you will be considered a "role player". Whereas if the only thing you can do is score, you aren't considered a role player (scoring is a role, believe it or not), you are considered a star. Go figure.

Dirk has pretty much single handedly carried his team.

Disagree. As much as I love Dirk, he is mostly just a scorer. There's a lot more to the game than that. I don't think you can "single-handedly"* carry your team if you only excel at one thing on one side of the court.

*I realize it's hyperbole, but still Dirk is getting too much credit.

Dirk is the equivalent to a great hitting DH, nothing more.

He is a great offensive player.

James has been just as valuable, If not more, on the defensive end of the floor.

I agree...

...and this exemplifies it perfectly, which is pretty funny to me. Reilly almost always comes through, though.

I think that's a fair point but I would say offensively he is just about single-handedly carrying them. He certain doesn't have a D-Wade or even Bosh to carry the load.

Scottie is a genius! He obviously said this because he knew LeBron couldn't handle the pressure.

HAHA I didn't think about that, but it is working cause LeBron has some mental things going on especially in the 4th quarter.

Revelation: LeBron is the new Scotty Pippen.

This is not Wade's team. Wade has been unable to carry the Heat to victory when Lebron has played poorly (in 3 chances). Lebron however has carried the Heat to victory three times (Chicago x 2, Philadelphia) when Wade has played poorly (in 5 chances). Scottie Pippen was a great player, but he wouldn't likely be the #1 guy in a "big 3" lineup

This is the NBA finals. Right? And I vaguely remember Wade carrying the Heat to an NBA finals before without LeBrick jacking up prayers.

Keep thinking that.

Look, no one is questioning Lebron's physical prowess. He's probably the best athlete in the NBA (that's saying something). The reason I think Lebron is comparable to Pippen is his mindset and collection of skills. Lebron is cool facilitating his team in the clutch. Good or bad, players like Michael, Kobe, and Wade didn't, don't, and rarely pass when their team needs points. Those three consistently step(ped) it up in the clutch. Lebron is wildly inconsistent.

It's wade's team anyone who doesn't think that is an idiot. Lebron is no where near mj anyone who doesn't think that is braindead.

LeBron's comments after the game are yet again another example of why I don't like him. Maybe he should spend less time mocking Dirk and try to not average nine points less per game in the final than the regular season.
