The cap should have never tried to shoot that approach.

Wouldn't that have been more of an ATC screw up letting him try to land in that strong of a cross wind? Otherwise, I bet the passengers were ready to shoot the cap!

ATC should have diverted, but in the end it is the pilot in charge's responsibility. They were getting some serious cross winds at about 800 ft when the video started.

i saw this earlier today. that's ridiculous.

I was on a United flight into Cleveland almost that bad, or at least it seemed to be. The wings started that up and down deal just before touching down, and the pilot just cut the power off and we dropped on the runway harder than I ever have or thought the landing gear could withstand. It actually hurt my back from the impact.

you're not just prepping to testify at some sort of trial are you? I can't imagine "I swear he said it on VolNation" will hold much water.
