Thanks fellas. OrangeBalls, my settings are usually ISO4000, f/2.8 and 1/800th-1/1000th shutter. TBA isn't too bad as far as lighting goes.

I figured you were at least at 3200. I've shot in gyms and had to go to 4000 and sometimes even 6400 which sucks if you ever want to make a print. I usually am at 3200, 2.8 and then underexpose a bit because you can always lighten them up with the software as you know. The damn back focus gets me a lot though with the 2.8. Such a narrow field especially when guys are moving that fast.

Thanks again.

Awesome shots. Personal favorite compositions are McRae with the lighted backboard in the background and Golden walking up the court with the frantic crowd behind him.

Just curious, what zoom and wide angle lenses did you use?

Thanks for the memories rewski.

Do you have any of Skyler?

I meant to add a few of him. I'll see if I can find a couple good ones.

thanks, those are a few of my favs as well. As far as lenses, there are several represented here...
10.5mm fisheye, 14-24/2.8, 24-70/2.8, 70-200/2.8, 300/4, 300/2.8, 200-400/4 and 400/2.8. The 24-70mm and 70-200mm are the "go-to" lenses. I'll usually have 2, sometimes 3 cameras with me on that floor that I'll switch between.

I wish you would have added the Tenn. vs. Ky. final on the scoreboard in TBA of course.:D

Good idea. I'm not sure if I took one or not... I'll check and add it if I did.

Thanks for these pictures cause they are epic. You need to blow these up to poster size & sell them....I know I'd buy some. That first one of TBA is awesome dude.

Thanks! Unfortunately, I can't sell them... the school would be all over me if I did. I do have a 24x16 of that TBA shot on my wall though.
Which reminds me, I need to add the shot of TBA after the "snowmageddon".

Those are shot by mounting a camera with a remote trigger system up in the catwalks, like so:

All I have to do is press a button at the right moment.

Cool. I figured you were either walking the catwalk or using a remote.

Thanks! I'm looking at a 17-40/4 and a 70-200/4 as finances allow over the course of time. I figured the wider aperture was what you used for depth of field and exposure. One of these days I'll have multiple camera bodies...

Again, sweet pics.
