hahahah who's going to buy a domain name with a misspelled name??

People who know they can exploit a common misspelling to get people to stumble upon their site, and therefore use it to show advertisements and make money.

How do you know lanekiffin.com wasn't registered for him by that SF lady? Whoever has it is keeping it updated and aren't running ads on there. If not, he definitely needs to buy it. $10,000 should do the trick, especially if the owner is a fan of his.
