Terrific.

The guy that said "eight wins is enough" and started the Vols down this road of ineptitude is the one who is going to fix it?

Not remotely surprised at this since he wormed his way back into Knoxville however.

Considering Phil's utter failure in coaching decisions on his own staff, I question what kind of positive input he will have in this process?

So just because his feelings were hurt that he was fired mid-season he thinks UT should not fire Butch mid-season for the same reason?

He is giving horrible advice.............

Get Butch out now! What benefit is there for keeping him on other than not hurting his feelings?

Agreed.

Can’t believe some of these post, you should be great full and loyal to CPF. If we could only relive those glory days, two bad years and an over reaction by the administration, got us us two decades of trash!!!

I have never said hire Fulmer back but would definitely take him over anyone below the Frost / Strong level on the list if he wants the job. That is just where we would be in my opinion. Anything but ideal at that point, but better than other options.

Fulmer's been pulling the strings behind the scenes like Richard III and Palpatine. All in an attempt to put himself back in power. Phil you treacherous bas****, revenge is a dish best served cold. How did he do it?:eek:lol:

Fulmer's opinion will matter--and it should, to an extent--but let's not not pretend that he will have any penetrating insight that will help us land the perfect coach. Everyone knows the basics of what is desired in a new coach--and nobody has a clue how things will actually work out with any particular guy. Who would have picked Fulmer to succeed Majors--I certainly wouldn't have--and who would have expected him to succeed as he did, for the first several years? Nothing but serendipity--chance. Yea, if you can get a guy with Saban's background, you increase the chances of success--and that's really how Fulmer could help. If Currie and the boosters and other advisors (Manning, others) settle on a couple of /established/ coaches, Fulmer could try to persuade those guys to give our offer serious consideration--especially if he knows them. Otherwise, Fulmer has been out of the game for a decade and so I doubt will have much to offer when it comes to coordinators or lesser-known candidates.

I can only guess all this Fulmer longing is from mostly young folk who never actually saw him or Chavis at work. He never out coached anyone, he only out recruited them. The coaching landscape changed, he couldn't.

Total BS post. Why bother! Fulmer was the reason Tennessee dominated the 90s.

This is just basically a rubber stamp to unite fans and alumni. I love Fulmer but he won't have any real impact on who's hired.
