Phil picked The Vols to finish Second in the East AND Possibly challenge Uga. Power Rated Tennessee at # 11. Unfortunately , Steele also has Pitt power rated at #9. FYI....

Hes unreasonably bullish on Pitt.

If they finish 9th that will mean they'll be better than they were last year after losing a 1st round qb, the best WR in college football, their 3rd leading receiver, their TE who got picked up by the Saints and their offensive coordinator.
Don’t think Pitt is that good. Lost too much skill position players. Expect TN to win, but would not be surprised at loss. Loss to Pitt means 4-5 more losses coming. Sets TN back a year. Let’s schedule a real OOC
opponent. ND, UCLA, Miami, NC. Mich would be great.

There is NO WAY our LB's are one of the top units in the SEC... nevermind the country. Ill have what fill is drinking.
He didn't say the nation. I'd say that has to be the SEC or "top units" is very broad.

Think everyone knows our secondary and LBs are behind.

They lost their all-everything, 1st round draft pick QB…a HUGE loss. We should pummel them! GBO!!
They also return a ton on defense and picked up a strong qb transfer. Projecting Pitt as a good team seems unanimous, like it or not.

Don't see much difference than when many fans doubted WVU or BYU.

They literally won the ACC last year, but we should "pummel" them this year in their own stadium? Ok.

Fwiw I see it as a ~50/50 way too early.

Their getting a pretty good QB in Slovis. Loss of Addison will hurt. Not sure of their other skill players. Hope to come out with a 35-31 type of win. Think Phil has us too high on several positions, DB, OL, DL & RB. Don’t think TN has a 1000 rusher.

Phil's "Top Units" are like in his top 50 units in the Country. Some are ranked higher, Like QB is in the top 10, as are the WR's. Anyways, Steele likes the Vols in 22.

Just another Rip Van Vol Fan take, like he's been asleep the last 20 years and just logged on.

Is Pitt really that good this year? Asking because I really don’t know much beyond them losing their top wideout to the portal. Really counting on a win against them if we want to get to 8 or 9 wins. That game is pivotal

Pickett was the only reason they beat us. He was the best qb we faced last year…and we faced a few! That and we, as a team, hadn’t found our sea legs on offense. Now though, we aren’t searching for a serviceable QB, and they lost a 1st rounder to the Steelers. Be a negative Nancy if you will, but we wallop them by at least 2 tds…book it! GBO!

They return all five starters on the offensive line. They return six all-conference selections on defense. They have one of the better defensive lines in the country. If they get decent QB play out of Slovis, they’ll be good.

Phil has Pitt as his #1 "Surprise Team". With USC Transfer Kedon Slovis at QB, Solid at RB, OL, and pretty good at WR, Plus a Stellar Defense. Paraphrased.
