I wonder how Pruitt feels about this? He signed up for the UT job so it should be expected.

I just hope Phil isn't overstepping his boundaries on this.

Pruitt should be singing alone , he dont work in Alabama any longer. This is part of the job. UT is paying him to sing along lol....But in my mind I picture Pruitt over in a corner someplace singing sweet home Alabama.

Perhaps we should start a poll to be sure, on what the overall position is. That way we can add something else to the list of “finding chit to bring down the mood after the win”

No one is trying to bring the mood down, like vollygirl said it just feels a little awkward. Personally I haven't heard that sang in so long it made me smile.

It was simply a question. So, please don't read more into this than you already are.

I don't see it being a big deal.
I'm confused. Do some think there is an issue because Pruitt is uncomfortable with the content of the song, or because its his team, his win and Phil is directing attention to himself and taking it away from Pruitt?

A lot of us think that Phil is getting too carried away with the football team. He's the AD, not HC-2

I don't see why Pruitt wouldn't be happy and sing along. He was wearing a T on his shirt and representing Tennessee. He came down from Knoxville to whoop Auburn and that's what he did.

In the 1995 version of the song, you can see #11 jumping up and down and he was from Huntsville, AL.

In the 1989 rendition, you can see Marion Hobby singing it with a ton of enthusiasm at the beginning of the video even though he was from Irondale, AL.

Hobby, Kent, and Pruitt all had awesome games and deserved to sing it.

Obviously you know this, but if Pruitt doesn't mind, what you or me think doesn't matter.

That said, I can see it being an issue. Sure hope it gets talked about and handled if it is.
