Phil, Don't Fulmer It

:rock::rock:
That horse has left the barn.....

Filmer is the Barry Alvarez of the South.
In addition to being too involved in Football.....he completely kicked he can down road on Firing Holly something he should of been involved in.

Yep

But correcting grammar/spelling is fun.
If it makes me annoying, then at least I'm good for helping to make the board a bit more lively.
And I never said your argument was wrong.
I don't necessarily disagree with your point.

But... but... just for the sake of arguement (ha ha) you did not correct his mis-spelling of argument!

Now, you know it's the offseason when we have nothing better to do than play word games and correct each other spelling. And Special Ed is an especially gifted and bonafied spell checker!

Only because I didn't want to belabor the point.
I wasn't interested in piling on.
Sometimes it's better to just let it go.
Even I have my limits.

We're still recovering from bad choices at UT. They allowed this to continue to the point that it is now. They have picked 3 poor choices to date after the firing.

With all due respect, he didn't leave the football program nowhere near the shape he got it in in 1992. There was plenty wrong with the way he was doing it from 2002-2008

You overanalyze my friend.

Feels like 2005 in that expectations for many aren't likely to be met around here.

For a team coming off a historically bad season with unsettled personnel situations everywhere and little to no depth, this team has a number of challenges to overcome just to hit .500 and a bowl game.

Plenty on here are predicting 8 to 9 wins already.

Our football team was absolutely loaded in 2005. This team has nowhere near the talent and depth of that squad. That being said, guess who was head coach in 2005?

Yeah his record during thag stretch really proves your point. Lol.

It's a very real controversy that already exists, even if most UT fans are willing to overlook it. Phil is meddling in Pruitt's business right now. If this continues, it will be to the detriment of the football program. Whether or not Pruitt is the right man for the job, whether or not he's ready to be thrown into the fire, he has to be allowed to run his own program. Anything else is a recipe for disaster.

I hate to say it, but we're flirting with that disaster right now.

Man, I stand up for this fanbase and then you go make retarded statements like this.

And to drive the UT football program into a ditch. We're still recovering by the way, maybe you haven't heard that?

I didn't know Fulmer was on the sidelines or recruitng the last 10yrs... was it Fulmer or Butch that decided to have the players voluntarily lift weights? Was it Fulmer or Butch that decided not to play Kamara or have a QB coach for Dobbs?

When Fulmer left we were one-two classes away from competing for national titles again. Now we are 3, at minimum, classes away from winning or division. Losers like you that hate on our National Championship winning coach need to get the hell out.

Same one in 97 and 98.. yanno, the one that won a National Championship and recruited one of the greatest players to ever step on a football field..

Fulmer didn't "leave," he was canned after completely destroying the program. :good!:

That 05 season was probably the biggest waste of a defense ever.

Maybe. We had NFL talent all over our defense almost every year Chavis was DC. That being said, Chavis is EASILY the most overrated DC of all time. He's lauded as "great" by some. In reality, he's ok at best

LOL........two different eras for former CPF...."yanno"...LOL

There's no doubt our fan base is one of the dumber ones in this country. Thanks for helping to make that a reality

You got that right. There is a bunch of them all bent and butthurt over coaches comment about the spring game attendance.

They say stupid crap like..."just shut up and win", but there are no games to play yet.

"We've had a crappy winter/spring with far too much rain. If people decided to do other things yesterday instead of going to a meaningless spring game, good for them. Pruitt needs to check himself a little here. The guy simply has no business judging the motives of fans."

"Check himself" That's funny right there. Some of our fans need to check themselves, and their fragile whittle feelers.

An informed fan looks at details. We weren't competitive nationally and against our top rivals.

My point is easily proven when you take a look at the details of our 2002-2008 stretch

One or two classes from competing for national championship, now that’s funny right there, were you allowed to stay up and watch his recruits during the Dooley years? Losers are fulmer lovers.

The last 10 years was actually caused by Fulmer. He is the one that let the program get fat on his watch.

No, I blame it on Johnny Majors and his inability in the 1980s to put ever successful back to back seasons together....he laid the groundwork, just too inconsistent, just too much for Fulmer and Kiffin and Jones to overcome. Yep, it was definitely Majors’ fault.

Fulmer may not have the squeaky clean background without failures and shortcomings as some seem to require. But he does have the confidence and football swag among those titled individuals at UTK, therefore I’m thinking he can and will be the hedge of stability for CJP from them so he has a fighting chance to be successful. I think Fulmer sees CJP’s successes as his as well so he will protect him and keep resources flowing. I often find myself wanting to gripe about traffic offenders habits, then realizing I to have been guilty of the same habits. Be mindful as fans that the things fulmer has said and done and will in the future many of us also have a closet similarly decorated with skeletons. In his on field interview fulmer stated he knows where all the bones were buried, food for thought.

Have you seen Wisconsin's record with Alvarez as athletic director? I hope Fulmer's involvement leads to that type of success on the football field. Some of you react to Fulmer's presence as if he slept with your wives.
