So after the performances of the last few games, it got me thinking...is our combo of Ramar & Jordan the worst PG in the SEC? Going through the teams, there are some good ones. My rankings are below, first based on how the PG runs the team (passes, tempo, ball handling), then based on scoring, because a PG's first job is to make the team around him better (see Steve Nash).
1. Nick Calathes (FL) - Best passer in the league, looks to pass first, can shoot and drive
2. Jamont Gordon (MSU) - Future NBA prospect, we almost had him
3. Devan Downey (SC) - SO fast, good shooter
4. Ramel Bradley (KY) - a good all around threat, good shooter
5. Sundiata Gaines (GA) - Strong, good shooter
6. Ronald Steele (Bama) - I know he's injured, but he's very good
7. Gary Ervin/Patrick Beverly (Ark) - both good shooters
8. Chris Warren (Miss) - Dynamic freshman, good shooter
9. Alex Gordon (VU) - good shooter
10. Garrett Temple (LSU) - not as good as he used to be, but good defender and tall
11. ?? (Aub)
Which one(s) is worse than our combo? How does our team not have a guy who can at least shoot a 3 occasionally and contribute something more than 6-8 points every night? I say they're better than Auburn and G. Temple, but that's it.
Yes, I'm still mad about last night. This was supposed to be our year. I'm not saying it's all the PG's fault, because we should have played much better on D, especially transition D, but Ramar and Jordan didn't help much at all last night.
I hope Daniel West is a player like his coach and friends say he is. We need him bad.
