A friend and I were talking the other day about how when Peyton retires Tennessee needs to offer him the qb coach position. He studys the game like no other and who better to recruit kids than Peyton Manning. QB prospects would eat it up. I could see him becoming the next great coach at Tennessee, and the way he has been playing lately isnt looking so hot so retirement could be soon.

No way, Peyton has a good 5 years after this season.

Peyton will be in Indy for a few more years. After he does retire I wouldnt mind seeing him get a coaching position at UT. He will probably take a cushy espn job though. Good money and not a lot of pressure.

After seeing what Albert Haynesworth did to Brody Croyle last week anything is possible. That made my day.

If he retired today he would not be on any coaching staff. He will be an analyst making millions doing easy work

Not so sure about that. He has plenty of $$. I think he would do what he enjoys the most. Now I do not know if that would be coaching or something else.

Do you seriously like to see someone injured like that?
I have hoped for bad performances from opposing players, but never an injury. One of the saddest things I have seen was when Inky Johnson went down for you guys. I never want to see someones career taken away from them.
But to each his own I guess.:banghead2:

Why wouldn't they just offer him a HC job? The way he studies defenses I'm sure he knows defense as well as offense. He would need a special teams guy and a crew of people that would do what he said, when he said it. That's all he would need.

He probably enjoyed it like I enjoy watching his intellectual equals break their limbs in pig-jumping dirt bike stunts.

I can see him coming to UT after his playing days are over and becoming QB coach, then OC, then HC within 10 years.

There are very few true fans that enjoy seeing someone maimed. This guy is the exception. I ignore people like that and just go on.......no matter who's fanbase it comes from.

If you think Peyton Manning is coming to UT as a QB coach, you need to learn to just say no.

Since the day he left TN I hoped he would one day coach here. No player ever did as much for us as Peyton. I don't think any player ever loved TN football more than Peyton. Some Vol fans bust his chops for not beating FL. It took more than one player to beat FL in those days. Our coaches trying to out score them didn't help either. Some fans moan about him not being a running QB. I think he did just fine with his lumbering gate.

He is TN football. He is the greatest player we ever had. Would he be a great coach? I don't know and I sure would hate to see his name bashed on here like our current coach. So, I'm now torn on him coaching us. Even if he did a good job one day it will get bad. Just ask Fulmer about that. Great coaches fall from grace fast in this sport.

I'd be surprised if he took an analyst position on ESPN after he retired. He just seems way too competitive to hang it up like that without giving coaching a shot. I think he coaches in the NFL though, not college.

Pig jumping dirt bike stunts? Wow..... You always were the funniest one.. I remember as kids you always made everyone laugh.
