With the injury the time for him to move on to the next step in his career is looming. So what do people think. I mean yeah he was a great QB here and a legendary QB in the NFL. Thing is through his career in indy he has coaching has been such an obvious next step for him. More-so than any player I have ever seen him not coaching after the game is kinda unimaginable.

My thing is I think he would be a much better NFL coach than a college coach. I don't think a High school kid could do what he would want him to do. Heck I don't think many guys inthe league could do what he does.

Love him or hate him there is no single player in the NFL more crucial for his teams success than manning. Seriously even their defense is built around what the offense does. The argument has been had in many bars what would happen in Indy if he goes down and now we are seeing. Brady went down and NE still chugged along, because as great a QB as Brady obviously is the system plays a big part there and you can plug another QB in it and expect at least a modicum of success. Indy ain't that offense there is only one dude that can run it.

So lets play it out in our minds in this thread. If he retires and decides to come to UT eventually how do you see it turning out? No way you push Chaney out of the way for him out of the blue but honestly Chaney and Wilcox are here until they get a head coaching gig so 2-3 more years at best. I can see him coming in as say a QB coach and being groomed for the job.

"It's called a JUMP TO CONCLUSION mat" ..c'mon man. Seriously? Manning misses a couple of games for the FIRST TIME IN HIS CAREER and he's being talked about as a coach at UT? There is only one thing on his mind right now and it's rehab my friend.. nothing disgusts him more to see his team be the laughing stock of the league.

Let's let his career play out before making all these baseless assumptions.

Peyton has Bill Gates money... no way he'd come back and take a job that carries so much stress along with it.

I don't think Manning would make a good O.C. He is accustomed to giving 100% and while coaching, you will no doudt have players that give less than 100% and this will probably burn Manning up.
Have you not noticed that Jordan is not doing very well as an owner and did very bad as
an on the court coach/player for the Wizards?
Have you noticed that Isiah Thomas didn't do very well as coach of the Knicks?
Have you noticed that Magic didn't do very well as coach of the Laker's?
Bird was able to take the Pacer's to the championship before losing to the Laker's, though.
Great players does not = great coach!!!!!!!!

Can you imagine the grief if he came back to coach and still couldn't beat UF? Holy Moses

Am I missing something or has Peyton been quoted in the past saying he wants to be a coach? Just an fyi as well, great players usually make horrible coaches.
