You can't be serious. No one in their right mind would take Gruden over Peterson.

Thats easy since Gruden WILL NEVER BE THE COACH AT THE UNIVERSITY OF TENNESSEE! NEVER! EVER! EVER X A GABILLION! I MEAN NEVER!

I'm a Grudenite, but Petersen is far and away the best coach in college football not named Saban, Swinney or Meyer and one could argue he is better, having done less with more.

So Petersen or Gruden? Yes.

Gruden gives that instant recognizable face to your program, BUT...Petersen is more of the long term "sure thing." Id trust Petersen with the program in a heartbeat. The man wins. Plain and simple.

with Gruden as OC and Saban as DC since we are completely out of touch with anything remotely close to possible at this point.

This poll is the result of the perception that Gruden toyed with us (that's why I just emphatically voted Petersen). A month ago, you can flip these results, in terms of what fans wanted.

Petersen. Silly question. I haven’t checked lately, but Petersen is probably the winningest coach in college active, unless Urban has retaken the lead after he had a few 8 win seasons when he first got to Washington.

I’d take Petersen over anyone if he were willing to come here, even Saban (because of his age) and Urban (because of his heart related issues).

Peterson every damn day of the week and twice on Sunday’s. Would be the best hire in the history of Tennessee football outside of the General himself.

No - the simple fact is that Gruden is a TN homer and would be a massive bolt of lighting to our program. He would have to have the right people around him to succeed at the college level but he could, and in a big way.

Petersen, however, is not a question of "could he succeed" but rather "How can we actually get him here?".

Well, Fulmer is interviewing him. Pretty easy to sell that you can win a championship at Tennessee when you’ve done it yourself. Make that man say no. Give him everything he wants and then a bit more! Full control, $9 million. If we were willing to pony up for Mike f****** Gundy, then you should do everything in your power to get the 4th best coach in CFB to Tennessee.
