So, I get a call from a guy a couple weeks back regarding the fact that UT is considering doing away with the Tennessee Walking Horse at this years homecoming game. It seems PETA has gotten into the act and put some pressure on the powers that be and they may be/could be yielding. L David Howard, from a Shelbyville based publication called Walking Horse Report broke this story in their latest print offering. I was tipped off by a reader and walking horse enthusiast in the western part of the state. Bottom line is that PETA says of the Walking Horse that it's 'cruel and inhumane' to get a horse to walk in this manner. But these are same people who say fish feel pain.

took my kids to see the Oscar Mayer wiener mobile here locally, didn't know peta was there to protest. needless to say they totally ruined the day. yelled at everyone made my kids scared more than anything. two weeks later they were protesting our local KFC, drove down there bought some chicken then proceeded to eat it in front of them. they were very happy about that, a shouting match broke out and the police were called. I HATE PETA.

Hard to believe but very true. Their shelters get overcrowded and then they euthanize the animals.
