Sparty and Friends Did Percy Harvin Keep it Real?

Apparently former Gator and now Minnesota Viking wide receiver Percy Harvin was
invited by some Florida coaches to come speak to a few recruits about his time
at the university. The idea was to give them an NFL player’s perspective on how
the school helped him not only get to the NFL, but also how they made him a
better player in general.Well, things started great as he talked about how good
the staff was to the players, how they won a couple championships, and how they
helped him become a NFL first rounder…then he started keeping it real.

What we’re hearing:

- Harvin discussed his continuous pot use, and how he was able to smoke it for
the majority of his time at UF.

- Harvin also confirmed the long time rumor that he made a mistake and choked
his wide receivers coach, and how the school gave him a second chance by
covering it up so the media didn’t report it.

- He also talked about the benefits that being a Gator brought to the party
scene in Gainesville.

I would find it hard to believe that any coach would stand by and let him make these kind of statements to recruits.

I heard it reported on talk radio in Atlanta ...... which immediately makes the info suspect.

It seems to be reported on rival message boards and nowhere else.

yeah, sounds bogus. The holy Cardinal Urban of Gainesville and his protege Bishop Timmy could not let such a thing happen If it were true, why stop there? I would go ahead and teach the rest of them how to take mug shots and fingerprinting, like the other 25 who have been arrested at Florida. :)


Seriously though, sounds pretty thin.

The fact it came out in a meeting with recruits sounds suspect, but the claims sound spot on.

Can a former player meet with recruits? I thought that was a violation.


And there is no way this happened, it's just too sensational.

The pot stuff isn't that far. I know a guy who went to school with him who knew he did it alll the time. He also punched out his coach in the middle of the lunchroom and took out a referee his senior year.

harvin is deff a punk, but he was the key those 2 nat championship teams, you will see this year when they are exposed, because dubois, rainey and demps all 3 together wont fill his shoes just yet.
