IF anybody has any scoop about anyone Pearl is recruiting I'm sure the volnation would love to hear about it. Lately, no news could be considered good news but it sure would be nice to see somebody say they are at least looking at TN so that we can say that the bleeding has stopped.

He's hot on the trail of several forwards. A Juco PF from OK (Darold Crow, 2005), Theo Davis is another PF and is a Canadian, and finally Maurice Thomas, a PF outta Philly has decided not to honor his verbal commitment to UNLV and is making a visit to UT this weekend. Bad news is that all these kids are also looking at schools such as UNC, Ark., MSU, WFU and others.

OTOH, Brucie baby is burning the candle at both ends. This guy is like the Energizer Bunny!

No commnets about disjointed sentences, etc.

Are these players you posted anygood? And when I mean good I mean come in and start right away like Lofton.

Mo Thomas could probably come in and start as a freshman. Theo Davis and Darold Crow would likely get a lot of PT as well. There are some extenuating circumstances around each of these 3, but nothing that should be a problem in regards to them playing at UT. Actually, I believe Thomas was rated the #40 player in the country as a HS senior. Tyler Smith was rated #41. Feel better now?

I think Thomas is a real possibility. I am hearing Iowa State on Davis as well, but that doesn't seem to jive with other credible sites. Who knows? Don't be surprised to see the kid that just left Marquette join the team after next year. Pearl was more popular in Milwaukee than Tom Crean, the Marquetee coach. You are seeing what the rest of us have seen for the past 10 years.... Pearl will flat out get after it and NO is not a word his dictionary. He will lose battles on the recuiting trail, but that will not bring him down. Good things are on the horizon for UT.

Hopefully he won't lose many more recruiting battles either. I just wish the recruits could see what you (USI) have seen. One thing about it. There is opportunity for some freshmen to come in and play right away and even start. I don't see why theses kids aren't pushing and crowding to get in line for UT.

Davis is expected to announce fot Iowa State according to the basketball "experts", even though they weren't even mentioned by him as one of his top choices. Thomas will be in today and is expected to choose between Tennessee, North Carolina, and watch out for Miss St. They are now heavily involvd with him and they have a teammate of his already committed. Jerry Smith is also in town this weekend. He is one of the top PGs in the country for the 2006 class. I believe he is ranked #3 or 4 at his position.I think he is ranked as the #27 overall prospect. He is from Wisconsin and his family are good friends with the Pearl family. He said Pearl and him used to always talk about him playing for Pearl but they knew that couldn't happen with him at UMW becuase he was going to be a big-time recruit. Smith says that once Pearl took over at Tennessee, that the talks about him playing for Pearl all of a sudden got much more serious. This will be Smith's secong trip to Knoxville in the last month. I think he will be making a decsiion within the next month or so. It looks like it will come down to Tennessee, Lousiville, Wisconsin, and Wake Forest. There is also another PG for the 05 class that will be in today. His name is Ricky something. Can't think of his last name. He has to go to prep school so he's bascially an 2006 recruit.

These guys looking at these top basketball schools this late in the game have to know that they are going to be bench warmers for the next two or three years. They might as well just come on to TN and let Pearl play'm , make'm, and take'm to the NCAA and the NBA..NOW!

It would have been REALLY NICE if Bruce had been here a little earlier. I would betcha if he had, we'd be looking at some real options right now.

Seriously, I wonder if this guy ever sleeps. He's out recruiting players, working with the team, making every Big Orange Caravan stop and is on most of the media outlets. I want some of his vitamins.

Two more scholarships that are available to hand out. Pearl has said that he would only hand both of them out if he got two 'impact' players. If not, then he will just hand one out and save the other one for next years recruiting class.

Davis is expected to make an announcement this evening and will not be making a visit. Actually, he hasn't visited any of the schools that his coach listed as his top 3. His coach said that after he committs, he may take a visit to make sure, but he would more than likely just go ahead and sign without taking a visit first. His recruitment has been kinda strange. Again, most "experts" are saying its Iowa State, even though that wasn't one of the final three according to his coach. i believe his coach said Arky, illinois, and Tennessee.

Next year will be the year as far as recruiting. Pearl got in too late as you mentioned and now is just planting the seeds. He is too smart and works too hard not to succeed. Plus, he is hungry. He got here the hard way and wants to make sure he stays for good. Great things will be coming.....just wait and be patient.

I think he has about 5 years. But the pieces are there for him to be good this year.

What kind of timeframe do you think Pearl will get to turn things around at UT? 4 yrs?

Whoa, look who it is!! Good to see ya NC.

I think we will notice an improvement in effort and a more fun style of play immediately. His first year we will hover around .500 is my bet with the talent we have (also depends on the schedule). I think we will make the dance by the end of his third year if not sooner.depending on recruiting.

It's really amazing the players that are suddenly mentioning Tennessee as one of their choices. Granted we are not getting them but the fact that these kids are mentioning that they have talked to Pearl or Edgar tells me that he is working his butt off. We never saw this kind of work ethic with Buzz.

Pearl will not be outworked and he will not let his players be outworked on the floor.

Hey bro...glad to see ya...I heard ol Ron Zook has a cell phone he can have that works in the shower! ;)

Well I hope his tourney run will cross over to recruiting at UT. There is alot of competition coming from UK, UF, Bama, and LSU for recruits.

As a Heels fan I hated Buzz didn't get it turned around for you guys.
